This was an amazing tour of this famous Mansion that Ghost Adventures has even done an episode on. The host of the tour was well knowledgeable & made you feel immersed in the story of the house. After a brief tour with her, you are free to roam around the mansion (with few restrictions) to see the rooms on your own. It's certain a fun thing to do, & that entire little town is full of so much history & stuff to explore. Will certainly go back for the paranormal tour, next time I'm back in Nevada.

Dawn was our tour guide very knowledgeable. So much history. With some Wow moments. After the tour our guide let us roam on our own. Can't believe how steep the stairs were back in the day. Managed to get 3 ghostly faces/figures in mirror shot. The maid had her bonnet on dressed in black. With 2other Male apparitions.

It was first home to George Hearst father of william Randolph Hurst , it survived the great fire of 1875, was handed over to john Mackay 1872, thomas Edison headed up the conversion to electricity and was in the mansion, and Alexander gram bell headed up the phone connection as well. It was home to the silver kings who found the largest silver strike known to man
Not without specifically booking an overnight ghost hunt, not like a hotel though
The ones down stairs are walkable but, most are roped off. If they weren't a lot of the valuable items would grow legs and walk away. The wear and tear on the period rugs and carpeting would be too much. Most you don't need to walk in as you can lean in to see what you need to.
Mansion is currently open 7 days a week.
Yes it is open. We had son's wedding there last Saturday. I don't know my son made appointment.

Tours run about every 30 minutes. If were on a tour have a seat on the porch and will be with you asap 😁
