This was amazing. It really takes you back in time. Easy access, the guide answered all of our question. There is an elevator inside which was nice and the cleanest and neatest restrooms.

Great museum! They cover history of the school as well as history of mining and Virginia City too! This school was built to educate over 1000 students at the same time! Many of the original desks and maps and furnishings are still there. If you go to Virginia City, this is well worth your time to see.

We went last month and you were allowed to go to the 2nd floor but not higher.
According to Wikipedia, it was a public school until it closed after the last class graduated in 1936
