I would give 0 stars if I could. I have been a NYC landlord for 45 years and all this agency does is rip off the people of NYC in any way that they can. They are thieves. They make it nearly impossible to resolve any violations, and are not willing to work with you. It is SOOO rare to get an agent on the phone who gives a damn about you or your concerns or questions at all.

Called the oath dept in queens today. Worst experience ever in my life. Trying to take care my ECB ticket at the 1st time, i told her I already submitted the appeal form online. She said they will respond to me in 45 days, which is after the hearing day. She already tired of hearing what I am concerning. She already said bye bye. I insisted: can I ask one more last question? Will it be better to pay the fine for most of the cases? She said: honestly yes and welcome to NYC. I don't mind to pay, but surely I don't deserve to pay. And the government agent was not helpful. I don't want to end up to pay triple time of the fine. If they have 0 star available, I won't hesitant. Thanks

This is really a question for an attorney.
Online or in person there is a request for a new hearing after a default. Google Oath nyc to get to their website. Go to missed hearings and you will find it. Good luck.
You have to go to the clerk's office and ask to vacate a default,
