Attended St.Vincents outpatient from 2015-2022. Several therapists of mine came and went to more affluent, non secular and higher quality work environments. The one's that stayed behind are a useless waste of time and insurance money. My latest therapist, David Daly, made many harmful over/the/counter suggestions to alleviate my insomnia because he couldn't be bothered taking the time to discuss the thoughts that were keeping me awake at night. He tried to coerce me into buying jewelry from his married wife's [Sandy] Oragami Owl side hustle business. When I told him I didn't want to - he screamed at me and said I was an insane and stupid bonehead. There are many other reasons I left St Vincent's in June 2022 but not enough space to list them all. I am now receiving competant, professional and beneficial support at MHA and feel safe to explain publicly what happened to me at St. Vincent's Hospital. Harrison, New York.

Terribly unprofessional no Protocol followed. My son was improperly assessed by a psychiatrist with a hearing aid and misquoted and there was no actual therapy provided. Wouldn’t refer my worst enemy to this program. They deserve to be shut down, if your not a junkie you don’t belong there.

So I don't have much experience with mental hospitals. Though a few months ago I went there to visit someone close. The building was run down, the grounds were kept well and the lobby was old-fashioned but clean and decent. As I'm waiting to see someone close I finally get the thumbs up to go upstairs. I met her in the lunchroom the whole place was run down. The walls have very old paint and there's drips of food everywhere and the floors are disgusting. Not a place for recovery! The orderlies seem very mundane and focused on their phones. Though I didn't see nurse Ratchet I'm sure she exists... They let my friend go the very next day and then she killed herself. She was there for attempted suicide. She's there only a few weeks yet somehow they decided to let her go?! This place gets funded by the state and privately, what's the point of having a place like this as it's so rundown and obviously the doctors don't care? It turns out they put her on the wrong medication. Ultimately we all take responsibility for ourselves but, if you're put into a situation like this you would think you'd get the right treatments.

Generally no, but does depend on where you go.
You can Google; St.vincents Westchester county, NY or use exit 25 off the highway and make a right, about 2 Miles down make a left at the hospital sign.
Depends on the unit. Call and be directed to the unit you need to visit and they'll let you know.
Call the main number
Depends on their condition. Some stay for a couple of weeks while others stay for several years!
There is staff to assist with obtaining medicaid for inpatient services if you qualify. This hospital does not do medical detoxes they will refer you to yonkers for detox.
I think they have inpatient & outpatient rehab treatments
