Pancakes & Planes Fly In Sunday, August 18, 2019 7:30 AM - 12:00 Noon Waunakee Airport Corner of South Division Street & Woodland Drive Sponsored by the Waunakee Airport and Pilots Association, Waunakee area residents are invited to celebrate the freedom of flight at the Waunakee Airport's annual fly-in, drive-in breakfast. This Waunakee tradition marks the 70th year! The cost will be $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12 years of age. Airplane rides with a view of the Madison area will be available for a suggested donation of $35.00.
Around 1946 Jerome Rip carved out a 1600ft chunk of a Hayfield and setup a windsock. Thats the story at least.
