Had surgery here on Monday October 10th after coming to the emergency room earlier that morning around 4:30 am. They got us back as quick as possible which was about 45 minutes after my arrival, got me to the ultrasound around 7:20 and had pain medicine by the time I came back from the ultrasound. I was in the surgery prep area by 8:40 that morning and by the time 10 am rolled around I was headed to surgery. My ER doctor and nurses were wonderful and Jennifer (my nurse) was so friendly and caring. The surgeon and his team were amazing as well and everyone in both recovery phases were attentive and sweet as could be. All in all this surgery went smooth and they all really kept me at ease and my husband informed throughout the whole process considering this was an emergency surgery and not planned it went well. I have no complaints about my experience here at Mission and I have seen worse surgery experiences at Haywood over the years. I'm glad I had a great team of doctors and nurses that morning who helped diagnose me and get me into the OR as quick as they did. The follow-up phone call this morning after my surgery was good as well, I had an opportunity to ask questions and get clarification on some of the things I had forgotten about yesterday due to the groggy state I was in after surgery. Overall I give Mission A 5 star rating.

Where to begin....first they made my elderly sick mother push me to the place I was scheduled for a procedure as I'm unable to walk distances. Then after my procedure the doctor allowed me less than 5 minutes of his valuable time to explain nothing. It was a nightmare from beginning to end.

My infant son had an allergic reaction and our pediatrician's on-call nurse recommended we take him to the ER. We were there over 7 hours, from 9:15 PM to 4:30 PM, without being admitted. My son even aspirated on his own vomit and stopped breathing for a moment. Other patients were asking the nurses to admit my son, and even offering to help him themselves. His vitals weren't checked until an hour before we gave up and left. I took my son to his pediatrician's office the next day and they were floored by the lack of care my son received. This was my son's 4th time in the ER since birth, unfortunately, and each time has been different. I don't blame the staff - I blame HCA for overworking and under-staffing an ED and putting us and countless others at risk.

Terrible hospital, as someone that works in the er I know how you are supposed to treat patients and family members, this place is nothing but a joke. They refuse to keep family updated or let them see patients in the er out of sheer laziness. All the staff I have spoken to have been completely useless and are of no help, they lie over the phone. And good luck trying to get ahold of a nurse. Worst hospital I have seen yetπ©

The average length of stay that private insurance covers for someone who is suicidal, homicidal or delusional is 3 days. The case manager on the floor can appeal for more days at the end of that 3 days if the patient hasn't sufficiently stabilized. Discharge plan definitely comes into play too, although less than it used to.
I believe Best Western on Tunnel Road
Not during this virus. No visits allowed
I've been in mission so many times and always get a private room...even in other states....I have never got a shared room...
Several top people. Human resource at the main office, manager and their supervisor! Not just one. As we know , they will not think much of your complaint. Then after reporting always double check to see if any action had been taken. Remember even if they speak to that reported staff member, they always take their side. Unless you have some direct proof. But don't give up.
No smoking on any Mission properties have to leave to smoke
When my husband was there in January I could go in anytime as long as know one else was there. If someone was there in the morning I had to wait until the evening. One time I went someone had been there earlier and I was told I couldn't go up .I cried and said I just traveled over an hr and the nurse said come up. I even stayed with him in ICU.
Actually, they do...βΊοΈ. https://thelaurelofasheville.com/communities/homes/mission-rathbun-house/#:~:text=A%20shuttle%20to%20and%20from,2%2C000%20families%20and%204%2C500%20individuals.
I had back surgery and was in the hospital for 3 days and left im not sure about the pet walking area but i will say from the 6th floor i was able to see lots of places i thought someone probably could walk a pet if needed
You should be able too.
Not sure can't see why not flowers comes in everyday .!
They actually have a facility called The Rathbun House not far from the hospital for patient's and or family. It's available through a referral by the Patient's charge Nurse and/or social worker at Mission. It's free of charge and is limited to 14 days per calendar year. There is however a $40 key deposit that you will get back at check-out. They have a fully functional kitchens that you'd be assigned to by your room number. There is maximum of 4 guest in one unit that can stay at a time. There is no televisions in the rooms, but they have certain areas around the facility that you can watch TV or participate in other forms of entertainment such as board games, etc. It's quiet and tucked back into the woods. Very peaceful, and relaxing!;we stayed there years ago when my grandmother was at Mission and just recently stayed there when our Mother was at Mission! It's a great way to be with your loved ones and still get the rest you need without all the stress factors!
Any law enforcement agencies can help with that or the ER
Yes, the psychiatric unit will. Go through the ER for that.
Holiday inn and double tree.
What part?
Yes
Go to the Copestone front desk is what I would figure.
Deceased relatives records deceased relative records
Your better off going to Asheville
I personally wouldn't see why not, your the one doing all the work, make it as easy as possible!
There is a deck there and it free parking .
Not unless it is a service dog and you have papers on you to prove so.
Where is the SATU.
I was actually on the mental word once and the hours where Tuesday from 1-4 and Thursday 5-7 You also must be family or friends to visit them.
Didnt think there was but learning of theRathburn house. some rooms have some way better options for one family member staying which I have had to use. If you aren't familiar with local hotels i could give a couple suggestions based in budget. Send me an email, glad to help.
I think Regular BCBS, but no secondaries like Medicare and Medicaid.
I think you can do it online but I do know for a fact that they can give you a paper to fill out in person.
Call ask mission hospital if they have such a thing. I doubt that's a personal family thing. Could b a invasion of privacy if they list deaths. Unless they have family permissions. ..
Go to your dr, first.
I would say greed. We can't choose an insurance company and Mission ditched all of us on BCBS of NC. There are other places to go that are not owned by Mission. I will keep going to those other places. Mission is advertising their doctors again. Looks like they are trying to get business back. Don't go back. Help stop their monopoly. They say they care and are there for you, but only if you have 10's or 100's of thousands of dollars. That's my take.
In the J wing on every floor has a coach to sleep on, it is pretty comfortable too. In med/ surgical I.C.U. in my husband's room, they had a recliner that wouldn't recline! I was so uncomfortable and sore for a week!
I don't know about mental health but I do know for certain that they transfer patients there that need long term care and/ or physical therapy. They first tried to send my husband to a nursing home/ rehab. I wouldn't allow it. Then they tried to send him to St.Joseph's for long term physical therapy.
