GREAT VET AND ASSISTANT! My son brought home a beautiful black feral kitten from his factory. He brought Missy to three different vets which wanted to charge $75 to $125 to check her out plus vaccines. Each one of those vets and assistants couldn’t even touch her and were afraid. Not one of them did anything except literally just look at her. Each vet wanted $1000 and more for shots, exams, and blood work to spay her. One vet looked at Missy while my son held her and the vet touched her belly and said she was pregnant and charged $25 for that! We waited two months to see if she would have kittens and she didn’t so she was never pregnant. People for Animals Hillside is always booked of course because they have reasonable prices. Missy was feral so they wanted to clip one of her ears. That’s OK if an animal is released but my son fell in love with her and decided to keep her. We searched the New Jersey Government Website for low cost spay/neuter vets and found TLC Pet Doctor in Union. The first visit was an exam and shots for $95. We also needed the rabies vaccine so we paid extra for that. The vet came in with the assistant and took Missy right out of the cage! The assistant picked Missy up and held her in her arms … It was amazing! Missy only allows my son to touch her but the assistant was so calm and confident that the cat just sat there for her! The other vets and assistants were so nervous and unsure that they made the cat run around the room and they couldn’t touch her. After the exam and shots at TLC you can spay two weeks later. Two weeks later we brought Missy in for spay, microchip, and a nail clip. The spay was only $240! I am so happy with their services, great service and reasonable pricing!

Amazing and caring. Cried with us while we were putting our dog down because of old age and very sick unfortunately.. she stopped eating or drinking water and wasn’t all there. Has the biggest heart out of any Vet in NJ. She is very honest and will say it how it is. Highly recommended even if it’s a drive from you, completely worth it for you and your beloved pet.

Wrong name... Unless tlc is the acronym for total lack of care....

Dr. Negrin is awesome. I went there for the first time, and on the wrong day of my appointment and they still took me in with my cat. She is so patient, knowledgeable, and super friendly. Her assistant was just as nice, (sorry forgot her name). I highly recommend her. If you want a one on one attention, this is the place to go. Tux found an awesome Dr.

And if you have Medicaid or Medicare there's some low cost program to get your pets neutered apparently. She works for the state too and she can give you the discount if it applies to you.
Hi, I'm Dr. Negrin, DVM, owner of TLC Pet Doctor. It depends on the age of your pet when the pet starts going to the vet. The recommendation is to start puppies on their vaccines between 6-8 weeks of age, follow up with booster vaccines every 3-4 weeks and the last set should be given minimally after 12 weeks of age but preferably closer to 16 weeks of age. The rabies vaccine is only given once between 3-6 months of age, to be in compliance with licensing statutes. (Dogs must be licensed by 6 months of age.) Minimally, dogs should be examined yearly to make sure that no medical problems develop with your pet. If the vet. finds a medical condition, depending on the condition, this will determine how frequently your pet will need to be seen from then on.
Hi, I'm Dr. Negrin, DVM, owner of TLC Pet Doctor. To start, your pet should be examined by a veterinarian, preferably in the morning. If your pet will not let you see in her mouth, the likelihood is that the vet will not be able to see in her mouth either without sedating your pet. If that is the case, the procedure must be done in the morning to give your pet enough time to wake up from the anesthesia. Please call for an appointment to let your pet be examined.
