Love this trail. Well maintained. Relatively easy 3 mile loop(ish) trail. Good views, especially in the Fall when the leaves are turning. Worth the trip!

Absolutely beautiful overlook. The trail is well maintained and wide. The path is easy to navigate and fun to traverse. You will be able to bring the family, but of course keep your kiddos close at the lookout! You will greatly enjoy this trail.

this is a wonderful trail. and you can enter this trail from 2 location. one from the CCC shelter scenic spot or from the parking lot with in the park. i like doing the trail from the parking lot because right off the bat you have a awesome rock formation and to start a hike with such a great reward is rare. there is a great app you can put on your smartphone that will show you the trail and both entrances. plus starting from the parking lot you can bring a lunch and follow the trail to the CCC shelter and enjoy your lunch with an awesome view. this 2.7 mile trail is label as a moderate trail but i found it to be easy. it only has 511 elevation gain but you have some many great woods, rock formations and scenic spots to enjoy and take pictures you'll have plenty chance to take a break if needed. the best part of the trail is when you come to this huge opening at the cliff edge. you'll definitely want to bring a good camera to take some great pictures of this awesome vista. but what i like best is since i did this trail in January was the icicles sparkling in the sunlight from these beautiful rock formation along the trail. i would recommend this trail for any family that wants to enjoy the day or introduce your children to hiking. just like the devil's den trail this offers so many rewards on a easy short trail. its a must do for any level of hiker and might be the best trail in the park. if i could i would give it 10 stars.

Awesome overlook. Trail is pretty easy but there are several rock steps. Make sure you follow the white blazes but there are 2 trailheads so check the map to be sure you come out at the right one. They r about 2 miles apart via highway. No guardrails so watch the kiddos. 😀

Not at the Yellow Rock trailhead, however there is an equestrian camp within the state park with designated equestrian trails.
