Spencer and his team are great to work with. They were very quick to get to work and knocked the work out quickly. The crew went above and beyond on containing the removal and cleaning up after the work was completed. I highly recommend EAS Environmental!

I hired EAS environmental to remove asbestos contaminated attic insulation from an old house we purchased in downtown Charleston. Spencer was very responsive and fully explained the process and regulations involved with this scope of work. His crew did an excellent job in removal and vacuuming the old attic insulation. They cleaned up and provided photos of their work when they completed the job. Very professional operation. I was impressed by their work.

Costs vary based on height of the crawlspace, accessibility/workspace for the technicians, extent remediation is needed, square footage, other soil or moisture control/diversion considerations.
A well built encapsulation can last 7-10 years, or up to 20 years if very well maintained.
Encapsulation is cleaning, remediating, stabalizing, and installing engineering controls in your crawlspace.
Natural disasters, like flooding, can create breaches and damage inside your encapsulation, possibly causing costly repairs.
Crawlspace encapsulation is the best way to start long term care for your homes flooring system and structural integrity, while protecting against moisture problems, and hedging against indoor air quality issues.
Asbestos exposure does not repair the lungs, and in more severe situations, it can have a negative impact on overall health. When someone is diagnosed with asbestosis, the therapy focuses on reducing symptoms and monitoring for severe lung disease progression.
Many car manufacturers, including Valeo, have since denied using asbestos in the production of brake pads. 1. Asbestos-containing disc brake pads are often inexpensive. Asbestos brake pads are a type of vintage brake pad that employs asbestos as the core element.
Asbestos is commonly found in popcorn ceilings, ranging from 1% to 10%. While a proportion of asbestos in a popcorn ceiling may seem minor, any amount of asbestos in a popcorn ceiling is cause for concern and should be handled.
Shortness of breath, cough, and chest pain are the most typical symptoms of asbestos exposure. Pleural plaques are a sign that a person has been exposed to enough radiation to be at risk for other diseases.
Asbestos exposure may also raise the chance of asbestosis (a pulmonary inflammatory disease that causes shortness of breath, coughing, and chronic lung damage) and other nonmalignant lung and pleural illnesses, such as pleural plaques (changes in the membranes enclosing the lung), and pleural.
Asbestos cancer is caused by asbestos exposure. Asbestos and cancer are most often associated with mesothelioma and lung cancer,
There is no single test to confirm asbestos exposure, but diagnostic tests for asbestos-related diseases effectively serve this purpose. Mesothelioma doctors assume the patient was exposed to asbestos when an examination reveals an asbestos-related condition.

Rodents can breach encapsulations, which is why a schedule of preventative maintenance or regular inspections are important to maintain.
Apply open-cell spray foam to the underside of the floor system, then install a vapor barrier.
Most often, floor system insulation/batt insulation is not required in an encapsulated crawlspace.
Crawlspaces can be either sealed or vented. If it is to be encapsulated, it should be sealed. If the floor system is to be insulated while the ground is covered with a vapor barrier, it is to be vented.
Encapsulation is craft work. Skilled installation technicians are required to make the investment worth while.
Encapsulation adds tremendous value to any home by securing it's structural integrity, which provides real and perceived value.
All encapsulated crawlspaces need a dehumidifier. Encapsulating includes sealing vents and controlling the atmosphere, the dehumidifier is the control mechanism.
Encapsulations have vapor barriers and go beyond the minimum standard of care. Vapor barriers are not encapsulations and are the bare minimum standard of care for your crawlspace.
