If you like a place of employment where you are fully unappreciated and only get constant negative feedback this is the place for you. The DON plays favoritism. Due to being dangerously low staffed, the quality of employees that they are currently hiring have no proper training, and yell at the residents. It broke my heart to watch. Employees constantly talk negatively behind each others back which makes for a toxic workplace. The funny thing is due to all this and more, they wonder why they can't hold on to their staff and continue to be low staffed. If you are looking to work for a typical boss and unit managers with major power trips than this is the place for you Leaders do not exist here. Hope this review will help

We waited until the Alzheimer's was very advanced and because of osteoporosis, her ability to be cared for was far beyond our capabilities before considering a long-term care facility. She introduced the staff to us as her family who were visiting her house. The staff kept us updated, let us choose her menus (she liked the food), and could tell us about her personality, likes and dislikes and convey any concerns immediately. Every month there was a monthly meeting scheduled to sit down and go through the overall situation and her charts were full of the little details. She passed in July 2020, bit I feel like she adapted to each new situation extremely easily. Another thing you may want to keep in mind when making a choice, this facility charges a percentage of the bill for the convenience of monthly direct-deposit. In our case, it would have cost an additional $250/month. Located almost across the street from Lexington Medical Center, it was very conveniently located for us. When looking at the star rating comparison, take note of how many people have actually written a review. Their rating seems low because there just weren't the same number of people writing reviews. One person's review can really skew the average rating when only a handful of folks have written a review. Warmest wishes for you and your family if you are having to make this decision. It's hard to have to make these kinds of decisions, and unless the whole family has the same goal, it can tear a family apart. Our experience was 5 of 5 stars with everything concerning the facility and care our family member received.

My mama was at NHC for three years. She got great care. I had no idea where the best place for her would be but was recommended by a good friend, That is a hard job, bless the nurses there that love their patients.

This facility is horrible. I stayed with a family member overnight several times as he was settling in as a new patient. Each night I’d hear patients screaming out fir help that never came. When I’d go into the common areas to fetch something for my person, other patients, who were not independently mobile, were left unattended for hours, and would beg me to help them; I’d tell the staff, but the patients would continue to be ignored. The staff was under qualified and inappropriate, and were asking my person, a business owner, for a job. They were asking favors from patients in return for better care and more attention. Several staff members did this. I would never again allow anyone I love to go to this facility. And I personally would rather die, than end up someplace like this. The patients are there because they need assistance. Instead they are ignored, left in feces and urine, and when the staff members do attend to the patient, they are rough and rude. Horrible place. The kind of place that causes nightmares.
