Have a 2016 251XS, I love the boat it looks great and rides well. Haven’t had any major issues yet but there are some concerns I have. Just like when I bought the boat I was concerned about the longevity of the vinyl and to this day it’s very faded and cracked (began doing so about 3 years ago). The amount of small gel coat cracks in the boat is driving me nuts, it seems like every time I get on it there’s a new one developing, I’ve had some fixed but they just keep reappearing (mind you this boat only has 300hrs and sits covered either in a barn or with boat cover). Also have a problem with the switch panel peeling (which I have seen on other boats) contacted scout for a replacement and was told my only solution is a $1,000 full replacement with switches. I love the look and design of my scout more than any bay boat out there and would recommend buying one but just a warning you might run into quality issues like I have. Edit: added a star for Scout reaching out to me and offer to send me a replacement switch panel for free. This is greatly appreciated thank you guys.

I have a 2020 195SF, happy with the boat overall. Had a hard time getting work done on broken parts and defective gunwale work. Got it done, but it was a hassle. Noticed a couple months ago the cover/wrap for the Bimini top was coming apart. Was told too bad, it is over a year and we won't do anything for you. Response for Alan: Your people at Scout told me to get with the dealer. I contacted the dealer and was told you are on your own. They said take it to a awning/fabric repair place and I would have to pay for it myself. I just think using the Bimini top maybe two dozen times max, would not have it falling apart. I would think Sunbrella would make a better product. The Bimini system has been kept mostly off the boat and when stored on the boat it is covered at all times. Oh well, let me see what Sunbrella says.

I recently bought a 1996 172 Dorado used, obviously. Its a fantastic little boat that gets compliments all the time. I have had a couple things I was trying to figure out, steering cable length etc. so I called Scout. My phone call was promptly answered and despite the fact that I bought this 26 yr old boat used and they don’t owe me anything Nat at Scout has been a huge help multiple times! I may not have bought this one new but when I’m ready Scout is already at the top of my list.

I've been a Scout boat owner for a number of years now and while everyone at some point in owning a boat will more than likely encounter some issue. my experience with the Scout customer service team has been very helpful even though I have an older boat. Even if they directly can't remedy the situation they provide information to get you what need to resolve the issue. Still the best looking lines of any center console on the market!

Well normally on any scout model, there is either a plug the goes in the drain, or just the drain hole. If the drain is clogged and not draining, as long as what's blocking the hole is small, you simply use a pressure washer to shoot the crud out. If this doesnt help you, you can call scout boats and request to speak with the warranty department. They can help you.
Call the warranty department
You should be about to but you will have to change all your controls and clean you fuel tank if your switching from 2 stroke to 4 stroke
Thank you for your question. You can call 843.821.0068 x 240 and speak to our parts department and they will be happy to assist you.
We prefer customers going through one of our local dealers which can be found on our website at www.scoutboats.com
