I love this church. My Grandparents were charter members, and I grew up going to church here. The parishioners are amazing generous people, and are like family to me. Many have been a part of the church as long as I can remember. They are friendly and the fellowship is genuine. I love the Methodist denomination for it's approach to church service especially the congregation invokes the Lord's Prayer and a benediction throughout each one. Acolytes are also one of my favorite features that are incorporated into Methodist services. I am especially proud of the historical choices the Methodist Church has made regarding human rights and ministering to those in need. The current pastor is a woman, and I like this inclusive leadership choice. She is a great pastor and this congregation is top notch. Her efforts towards inviting new members and ministering to the current congregation are evidenced by her personal attention to each of her congregants and her heartfelt sermons and reflections posted to the website. Bethany JI is a beautiful church with lovely grounds that are still authentic James Island at it's finest.
