With every visit I can expect to be seen on time, receive excellent service from the dental hygienist and Dr Taylor. I always feel they are there just for me. I imagine all their patients feel like me. The staff makes you feel valued the minute you walk in the door until you leave. Anyone feeling anxious or nervous about going to the dentist. Give Smile Sensation a try!!

I was referred to Dr. Taylor by a friend, who is also a patient of Dr. Taylor. My experience has been a really pleasant one. I have lots of anxiety about dental appointments but Dr. Taylor and his staff at Smile Sensations always make me feel at ease. Dr. Taylor takes the time to explain my treatment plan in detail;; he is thorough, precise and patient. All staff members are friendly, courteous, compassionate and professional. The care that I receive is commendable! I highly recommend Dr. Taylor!

If the missing tooth is replaced with an implant (plus implant crown) then any other surrounding teeth can potentially have a veneer if conditions are right for veneers.

Are veneers fake teeth?

Kristin Cotant | Feb 16, 2022
Smile Sensations Dental | Winston-Salem Dentist | Feb 16, 2022

Veneers are either porcelain or composite covers for the front portion of teeth, those usually in the smile zone. Since the majority of the tooth remains below the veneer, I would not characterize them as "fake teeth," just "restored teeth".

How important is flossing?

Very important, you are not cleaning 40% of the surface of your tooth if you are not flossing.

Are veneers permanent?

To slightly modify the other answer, all restorative dentistry has a lifespan, which may or may not be for the rest of one's life, and greatly depends on many factors the individual patient brings to the table. I think 10 to 20 years is not unreasonable, but sometimes long term successful esthetic dentistry like a veneer involves more than it "remaining in place." As gums recede with age and the high edges of upper veneers begin to show and perhaps pick up stains, many patients with a "high smile line" may want an update (replacement) for esthetic reasons only, which has nothing to due with how durable they can be. The exact timeline for this to occur varies patient to patient and this type of dentistry is called "patient driven." If any patient is no longer satisfied with the appearance of any of their older dentistry, they should have a discussion with their dentist. We at Smile Sensations Dental are always happy to have these important discussions with our patients!
