We had a blast! Our site was perfection, right on the water!!! Campground was clean and the owners are the absolute sweetest!! We can not wait to visit again next year!

Very rude while trying to make a reservation almost like they don’t want you to stay at there campground
Well, Dang!
The short term camper spots are hands down one of the best in the US for just kicking back and enjoying the views. Our teens loved jumping on the boulders and there's plenty of fishing to be had. Hickory Nut is probably on my top 3 of best campgrounds, and we've been across the country and back. This campground is close to Chimney Rock Village, and you can walk to it with little effort. We just love it. Hiking, fishing, relaxing, there is no better campground for it than this one. With that said, it needs a little work to get to five stars. Bathrooms could use some major updating. We brought our own, so that's okay, but the current bathrooms offer little to no privacy for anything you'd need to do. There wasn't even toilet paper. While the internet is good and strong when it is good and strong, when it isn't, it just isn't. There is no reliable cell service in the area, so only rely on this ground's wifi for light work or light internet browsing. Chimney Rock Village has public wifi everywhere, so you're not cut off from the world. Just make sure you don't come here relying on any of these connections for important work for those who travel and work. If you're towing or driving a long rig and coming from the west, so down way before you get to the entrance and swing wide in. You will hit the bridge railings, as many have done before. That said, these are not things to keep you away from here. The people are nice, and the town is just hands down amazing. We love it. We'll be back.

Me and my girlfriend showed up 5 minutes late to the checkin time, her and I thought we had to go some where else to camp, then the owner Bennet came up to and asked if we reserved a site, we did not. This was not a problem for Bennet, he brought us into his office and gave us a site right on the river. He said we can text him anytime if we have questions. I didn’t have money for ice or firewood on me, he just said take what you need and you can pay back tomorrow. Really friendly and family oriented owners. I had a great time during my stay at the campground

Depends I would think.. when we where there , yes.. a lot more people out now I would rather be safe than sorry and call them
Our office hours are 10am - 5pm. We answer as many calls as we can throughout the day. The phone rings off the hook all day long (and all night long). We're sorry we can't get to them all. The best time to reach us is late morning/early afternoon before guests start checking in & the office gets even busier. Please remember that we're a small family business & not a big chain campground with lots of employees.
They have 1 cabin for rent. No camper rentals I think. Call and ask.
Depends on site. Roughly 30 to 40.
Keep calling they said call about a month notice currently
Yes I do believe you can. This Campground is Amazing for the quite and relaxing benefits
You'll need to call the campground directly. They do not accept online bookings.
Yes
No
I don't think so, but I would call..didn't see anything that would suggest that..
I would call, but there were definitely dogs there....

They come up on Airbnb. You have to type in Allegheny shady rest campground. If you select the camping tab at the top of the screen they should show up on the map under a "$16" icon
We officially open for the 2021 season April 1st. We have limited office hours during the month of March as we're getting our grounds ready for camping. Someone is typically available late afternoon to make reservations.
We close during the winter months but reopen April 1st. We have limited office hours during the month of March as we prepare to open for the season. Reservations can only be made through our office & unfortunately the office hours vary day to day. The last week of March, the office will be open during regular business hours for reservations.
They close the end of Nov.
Yes, the power is back on in our area
Some of them are right by the river, but it seemed kinda cramped for tents. We tent camped at spot 55, not on the river, but a bit more secluded, and a quick walk to the bathrooms, and you can hear the river. If you don't mind being really close to others tent camping they do have great spots right on the river. Same with RV spots. The water really was ripping through there with lots of big boulders. I believe the website has a chart showing the individual sites.
Idk. Ordinarily they answer.
April is opening season
I think it was $36.
No swimming pool.
Yes u have to call for reservations and they dont start taking them till April when they open
No, they close at the end of October and open back up sometime in the spring. Not sure of the opening date.
