I wish I could give less than one star. I have been calling leaving voice mails as well as emailed and rarely get a response back. I need to speak with the board about Valerie Garner. She is disgusting as a case manager she is not working cases information in a timely fashion. She is retaliating against me because WE CAN NOT communicate she makes personal statements against me and is in violation of the code of ethics of Marietta Housing Authority on so many levels. I have request to escalate this matter and I have not gotten anywhere. Her supervisor Ms. Diana Austin did not care to investigate the situation she sided with Valerie based on their professional relationship. This is the worst housing authority I have ever dealt with and retaliation is shown from Valerie Garner.

My experience with Marietta Housing Authority Employee not the entire agency as a whole. I applied for an interviewed for Housing Specialist Position, after I had the interview it literally took the one of the program manager's Danita Austin 15-16 days to even reach back out to me. I contacted her via email to follow up on day 10 or 11 and she still did not reply. So, I finally received a generic email from her on August 31sst 2022 stating that I was not selected. I followed up again and thanked her and I asked a question "am I over qualified for the position" and again Danita Austin never responded to my email again. I have worked in the field of social and human services for years as direct support, case manager, program manager, program coordinator, and program administrator just like she works as one of MHA program managers. We are a reflection of our employers, with each customer service interaction that's how we help to brand our the company's. I expected more professionalism. Thanks for the experience and I will never in this life apply for careers with Marietta Housing Authority again. -LaTalia Chambers, M.S., M.O., B.S.

Marietta Housing Authority will allow you to be homeless I never thought that me and my kids would be jumping from place to place. I thought my case worker was supposed to help me Absolutely not she allowed them to put me and my kids out without having anywhere to go it is now 2022 I still haven’t found us a place SMH

In my opinion, The Marietta Housing Authority discriminates against certain persons for example, some persons with disabilities; some persons with different ethnicities (who they are not seeking to place at the property); some persons with a particular family composition. If you suspect them please report all inadequacies to HUD as well the United States Inspector General so that these and other acts can be investigated.

Are we talking about tabitha Devoe?
They are helpful not hurtful if they are true, Dont work with the public if you are not customer orientated
Everybody experience is different when it comes to the case managers. Communication is the key and not negative attitudes.
Ronald, you can only apply when the housing authority opens its application waiting list. It is currently closed. They don't make this announcement in advance or make it widely known. You have to follow them constantly to learn when the list will reopen. When they do reopen, it is only for a very short period of time, usually like 3 days. After that, it remains closed for years.
Kennesaw, Smyrna area is nice and affordable homes, townhomes and schools

Reach out to the different housing authority and ask about family composition and voucher amounts
Nope I was told last week to ride around 7 different cities and find a house then call to see if they accept section 8. Cobb county is the worst. No listing no help.
Yes I did..in 3/28/18..just got email today that background check etc is good to go!
It varies for each household. Income and family size determines this.
If I were you I wouldn't. Going through this now and it is the worst. No listing no help. I'm porting back from where I was next week.
Well when I was trying to port in 2013 to Marietta Ga. Me Devoe was very nice, I didn't have enough time to look but she treated me very well, that's why I'm coming back and try again. No matter about a person ways, just be as nice as possible. Show love
Rental house or one day?
I've been here 5 years almost ported in from Ohio. Its been a struggle some times but rent been paid every month on time. If anything my land lords have been more of a struggle than the housing agency. You just have to be on your A game. Not trying to abuse the system.
The waiting list is closed.
Sorry to that I just move senior Citizen and they talking rent up $1,219 I am upset $800 enough nomoney
No I don't know
Call the housing authority and ask who your caseworker is and tomorrow is walk-in day
You have to contact your caseworker and tell them you want to port out do it by email they get it quickly and respond with everything by email
I would call them. The receptionist is very helpful.
Yes
No City hall handles that
Yes.
Give them a call. Sometimes they do but for a few years, they were financially unable.
Not very long at all. It could happen in as little as a few days or even a week. Depends on how busy your port representative is. It's just a matter of your current housing authority/representative sending your information to the housing representative that you wish to move to.
Unfortunately no. The Marietta Housing Authority won't expedite anything for anyone. There are some people who have literally became homeless just by waiting on workers at the MHA to go out and inspect their residence so they can move in. I read a comment here about someone living out of a hotel/motel because they were waiting to have their place inspected. The MHA has 2 weeks to complete an inspection after an application is approved and this doesn't always get done. They do it when they feel like doing it and don't care who is affected by it.
You fill out an application. The waiting list is currently closed.
You would visit the MHA, but the waiting list is currently closed.
No. They don't even help with the most basic services they are supposed to provide. A hotel voucher is out of the question.
