My daughter is currently here due to heart surgery. The staff have been amazing. After a bit of a scare after surgery, they decided to keep her overnight. All is well except for the receptionist Willa W., when you enter Medical Park 6. Willa continued to argue with me for the two days we were here. After the RN even told her different, she then said she would report the nurse. My daughter is a minor and after both her father as well as myself were here with her all day, she then presumed to tell me that we couldn't both be with her. The policy plainly states that we can.Willa then had a nice long conversation with another employee about my attitude. Then, she let another lady go back that was told the same thing without making someone else leave as she did me & my husband. Someone of authority needs to speak with this lady. It's a shame that an employee that isn't a medical professional can tell medical professionals what they can and can't do. This includes telling parents they can't be with their minor child. I am sure that a lawyer would love to know that a parent wasn't allowed to be with their minor child after an operation. Especially when there was a complication.

My brother is currently in ICU at the heart hospital. He has been all around the richland hospital for 5 weeks. He is finally back at the heart hospital and had open heart surgery today. This by far has been a great experience. The staff and nurses in the heart hospital are not even comparable. They are so kind and actually listen. They care and it shows. Thank you Richland heart for helping my brother. I would also like to add the heart shaped pillows for family to sign is a great touch.

I have to give this hospital and the staff I encountered commendation on the great service. My son‘s father had a heart attack and had to have a triple bypass performed the staff I encountered, although young in the field and I am a licensed practical nurse and I have been in healthcare for over 30 years they were very knowledgeable and receptive to our concerns and questions. I encountered Molly, Christy and Sammy all RNs and Jackie a PCT. Molly was a sweetheart and a pleasure to talk to you. Cristie was the postop nurse we encountered and she was great. Sammy the postop nurse in the step down unit a new nurse only working a few months as a RN but she was knowledgeable and informative. I also met the RN case manager Ken Butler he is very knowledgeable and he was a great help helping us understand the ramifications of healthcare in South Carolina. Mallorie Moore was the Social Worker and she is knowledgeable and resourceful. The chaplain Gerard Fonte such a pleasure to talk with too. I did not get to meet all the staff but ALL that I encountered was a pleasure. Thank you to the Cardiac Team that saved our loved one (I spoke with the cardiologist, cardiac NP, and the cardiac surgeon) Thank you ALL!
