For the price, I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and breakfast. The room was clean. The fridge made an annoying whirling sound and I unplugged it but then it smelled a little funky and I had to deal with the sound. The motel was really close to a number of restaurants. Check in was easy. One of the clerks, Amanda?, was busy finishing her text before she'd acknowledge/help me out but the other people were hospitable. The breakfast was warm and had a number of options. The pool looked inviting but we didn't have time to check it out. There was also a coin laundry on site.

Tried to check in late evening on April 13 only to find bed bugs in room 227 within 30minutes of being in the room. Clerk didn’t seemed surprised and lowered the rate and offered to move us to another room. After a few minutes we decided that it would be best to leave and get our money back. Luckily right down the street the Hampton Inn had a vacancy and for a little more money had a wonderful stay with an excellent breakfast the next morning.

We stayed here while out of town o our honeymoon. I didn't have my hopes too high, but stayed here cause the price was cheaper. We planned to spend more than half our time out anyway. We stayed in roo 213 and the rail in front of our room wasn't bolted. It had broke at some point and was bent at an angle. The microwave wasn't cleaned prior to us checking in as there was a food wrapper and stains in it. The only sink in the room wasn't draining properly. After using it for my morning routine, it took about 15 mins for it to drain all the water. The sign out front said free cappuccinos but they didn't have any, just coffee during breakfast. The dining area is apparently closed because of covid but the quality inn in New Bern has had theirs open for the last year+. It's a struggle carrying the food upstairs with no trays or anything. Definitely got what we paid for but won't stay here again.

Tony and I spent the night at Quality Inn in Mount Airy, NC. I chose it based on ratings on its website, Plus I needed to stay at Choice Hotel chain to get my Free $50 Gift Card. I am Gold Status so I'm allowed late and early Check In and Check Out. The lady at the desk on Check in was nice but she didn't acknowledge my status. We opted for King Smoking Room because Tony Smokes. Normally he goes outside, but this hotel allows it in certain rooms. We were given room #147 in 2nd Building. When I opened door, the smell knocked me down from old smoke...They need Febreeze immediately! They can use it on the carpet, couch, bedding everywhere to dissipate that bad odor! Also carpet fresh goes a long ways too!! Also some room air fresheners would help. Half my lights didn't work, but the ones I needed did, also remote didn't work and was nasty sticky. I called front desk, she was a lone so I walked it up to her. She changed it out with another remote. The beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was small but clean and adequate, great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Price was higher than I normally would like to pay, but for the area and high tourist body count the rates acceptable and reasonable. No bugs found, no mold found, I would stay again if in the area.

Don't know age. But very well maintained. The pool was taken out over 15 years ago. No pool! Clean, easy on and off of 81.
