What a cool menu and unique experience. We got the steak tar tar and it was amazing. There was a smoked aioli sauce on the side that was delicious. The steaks were good and service was very nice. Lots of parking in the area to walk to this spot and cool indoor fire eating experience.

My fiancé and I cannot wait to come back here. We had our engagement dinner here tonight and we were just blown away with the service, the food, and the overall atmosphere. Emma was our server and made us feel right at home. Just an absolute treat of an experience. If you’re in the area and looking for phenomenal steak and service, look no further than Asheville Proper.

Hands down best meal and dining experience I've ever had. Every single thing we ate was impeccable and the service was perfect. There was even a guy playing music on the corner that added to our experience. We had the charcuterie platter as well as the cheese plate. I discovered that I've missed out on pate my whole life among other things I would have never tried. We decided to get lots of small plates to try, grilled octopus was amazing. The buttermilk fried oysters were divine. Steak tartar was also excellent. We also had bone marrow, which was a first for my 75 year old father, who loved it. We couldn't resist trying dessert even though we were stuffed since everything else had been so delicious and weren't disappointed with deconstructed smores and a flan dish. After dinner they invited us up to see the live fire kitchen where everything is cooked to perfection on wood fire. If you are traveling, save this place for your last meal, it was so great that it ruined all other places we went because we were comparing them to this very high bar. Dinner for 3 with dessert and drinks ran us a little over $250 (including tip and all) worth every penny!

My husband and I went to Asheville for a weekend getaway. We ate at AP and are so happy we did. It is the perfect meal for a chilly, fall evening. We started with some Spanish octopus. We shared a perfectly charred 28oz Porterhouse that was cooked on an open flame. We had some local mushrooms and embered sweet potatoes, for sides. We finished the night with charred peach, buttermilk ice cream. It's a perfect dt location and the vibe and service are awesome.

A little more crowded than I would have expected initially. All staff were wearing masks and I felt like the tables were sufficiently spaced apart. By the time we left there were far fewer customers. The food was outstanding as was the service. I would definitely recommend dining here.
yes- you can order on the phone and they can bring it out to your car. Note that there is no designated curbside pickup parking spot, only metered parking.
Hey Diane- We are opening everyday except Tuesday!
