Without a doubt the worst experience you an have through the military. Tried to add my son's birth certificate to our file and was given a walk in, then called a liar by the front desk person only after being talked to by a Mr. White about doing said walk in. This place is an absolute joke

I called the deers office to confirm an appointment at 7:40am on Jan 4, 2022. I spoke to Mrs. Calhoun and she told me the systems were down so she could not check. She then proceeded to tell me to call back in an hour and I asked her if my appointment is in the 8o’clock hour and I’m not there for it because I’m having to call you in an hour to confirm it, will I still be seen. She tells very rudely, IF YOU THINK YOUR APPOINTMENT IS IN THE NEXT HOUR THEN YOU SHOULD BE ON YOUR WAY HERE. She was very rude. When I asked who I was speaking to she goes silent for about 20 seconds and places me on hold with the National anthem music playing, I call back and she answers and first thing she says is what is your name? I tell her..she looks my name and appointment up in less than maybe 30 seconds, an tells me my appointment time literally within not even 5 minutes of her telling me your system was down, I’m not sure if she was just being annoyed an lazy the first time I called or maybe the second time she refreshed the system, either way she was extremely rude. I asked her again..who am I speaking with, she hesitated to answer and said ugh Mrs. Calhoun, I deal with strangers all day long and I’m a great judge of character. Mrs. Calhoun was was simply rude and unprofessional. We all go through small glitches and mishaps in our days so I want to say I understand but I don’t, there’s never any reason to be rude and nasty, especially while representing a portion of the military. I hope she has a better attitude moving forward.

I was concerned about this trip due to the bad reviews I read; however, my experience was an A+. The customer service was fantastic!!! The staff was extremely helpful. My appointment went smoothly and we were out after 15 minutes from my appointment time (I had to update to dependent ID cards). I also witnessed the staff going above and beyond, taking in customers that did not have appointments since it was slow at that time. Thanks to the DEERS Fort Gordon team.

I had an appointment for child who turn 10 years old. Went in to get an ID car for her. I was told they updated the policy to 14 years old for dependent ID cards. I put in the remarks she turn 10 when I schedule in rapid a couple weeks ago. Would have been nice if someone would have called me on the updated ID policy. Drove one hour one way.

Good morning, go on to DEERS, Rapids to schedule an appointment if you haven't already, have two forms of id, no he doesn't have to accompany you, get a copy of your 1172 signed and notarized, my friend's daughter did the same thing that way she didn't have to accompany her daughter
