This trailhead is a hidden gem in the park. You can hit the trail along the river, the paved access, or hike/bike up to the higher dirt trails easily here. This is far better than bowl and pitcher area if you're looking for trail access.

Right now it is iffy. Some ice. Some slush. Some mud. But I made a whole loop. Not bad for February

The trailhead is nothing fancy, just a gravel circle for about ten cars, but we enjoyed a seven mile round trip hike to the Bowl and Pitcher formations in the river, across the restored CCC bridge and back. At the first opportunity take a trail off the pavement and toward the river. There were a couple spots still under water, but most of the trail was passable in great shape.
