What a beautiful piece of West Virginia that is a little hidden gem. The views are breathtaking; especially during the right time of day. The native plants and animals are fun to read about and look for on your walk. The scene changes quite a bit at different times of year but it's still gorgeous. This is a must see in West Virginia!

What a very cool place this is. Walking over a cranberry bog is something I never dreamed of doing, but here in WV you too can do this! This is an environmentally sensitive area. There are rare plants here as well. It is home to several carnivorous plants, like the purple pitcher plant and the

Such a unique and beautiful place! I want to come back. We walked the trail twice and both times there was something new and different to observe. We did find some pitcher plants, many fungi, ferns, lots of boggy goodness. Don't sleep on this place. And be sure you gas up before going, not many option for gas.

Parking is not far at all from the boardwalk. It's a long loop on a wooden boardwalk above a marshy area. There is water flowing through parts but there is water/mud/muck pretty much under the entire walk which is about a mile long.
Yes! Just want to make sure they are under your control. It's a boardwalk through a delicate ecosystem that's very boggy. If your pet got away, you may not be able to give chase. But it's a nice walk and most dogs would love it.
Not currently because they need to rebuild boardwalk

The forest service has a visitor center about 2 miles from the entrance to the glades, gifts are available as well as an interactive area with live venomous snakes seasonally. The center is just across the road from the entrance to Rt. 150 (aka the Highland Scenic Highway), which is another trip that is well worth the time.

We took our boxer on all of the trails last year. No signs anywhere stating dogs are not allowed.
Cranberry Glades is an area where there is a huge variety of animals and plants, many of which should not grow in this part of the world. It is accessible by a boardwalk. It is surrounded by the Cranberry Wilderness, a National Wilderness Preservation System of over 47,000 acres.
