This pharmacy was my second choice since the Monterey Walgreens Pharmacy has completely devolved. The Dinah Shore location was reliable until most recently when they disconnected their phone line. If I can ever get my rx’s retrieved, I’ll be switching to CVS. This is disappointing. I’ve used Walgreens (Monterey) for nearly 20 years. I will never go back once I get my transfer through… if I can ever get that to happen

This particular location has wonderful people who, like so many, are hampered by not having enough help. That said, their automated system through which you can request refills is less than reliable. Be sure to follow up by phone if you use it.

Since January, this Walgreens has been a nightmare! It’s not the staff’s fault but there needs to be a solution to the issue with their advertised store hours not matching the actual hours the pharmacy is open. You can’t get anyone to answer the phone and it’s taking weeks for prescriptions to get filled. If this pharmacy can’t handle running properly perhaps they should shut down until they get enough staff to run efficiently as this lack in service is going to cost someone their life due to not getting their meds. The only solution that’s been offered (since this has begun) for getting meds quicker is to pay cash for my meds but the issue with that the patient can be penalized for doing that! My question is how does paying cash make the process faster when the issue is that they are short staffed?! Makes no sense. Walgreens has officially lost my trust and will definitely lose my business for good if they don’t get it together. I feel sorry for the staff that has stuck around. If I were them, I’d start looking for new employment as so many of the staff that remains deserve better.

Walgreens pharmacy is a problem. Rude pharmacy technicians that have zero compassion or customer service. The district manager REALLY needs to look into this! They treat the customers poorly and have terrible customer service. They never answer the phone and when they do decide to answer they act like you’re bothering them. Very unfortunate for people who have been coming here for years. Convenient location but no one wants to deal with the terrible staff
