04/31/22 @ 11:30am. Bloodwork personnel super rude and disrespectful. Talked to me like I was either a 5 year old child or incoherent 90 year old. I walked out.

The clinic has always been helpful.
Welcome To The Madness
I have a cavity. I made an appointment to be seen because, when you have a cavity you’re in pain. I show up for my appointment to be seen for my cavity. They took X-rays and poked around in my mouth to verify that, I have a cavity. Then, I got told by the dentist and the assistant that, I need to come back in three months to be seen for THE CAVITY that I made the appointment for. It’s as if, it won’t get worst over the next three months. I’m concluding that, these dentist are either not being compensated for doing work, so they stretch the work out over numerous visits. Better yet, the VA is also not meeting the staffing needs to the population anywhere. Now, make sense of what I just told you?

Extremely sad how Dr. Rigmee and team have little concern of veterans. Today I have spoken to 4 (four) different people regarding medicine refilled 11/15 for my 87 year old dad. After being given the runaround was called back told the medicine and voucher was called in to a pharmacy in Oakwood, made a second trip, pharmacist there explained the voucher was sent, however it had not been approved. He also added this situation is typical of the Oakwood VA location. The last person, Reginald, I spoke to confirmed that Dr. Rigmee had actually instructed for it to be mailed instead. That said my 87-year-old dad is going on his 10th day without Eliquis after having a heart attack two strokes and starting chemo next week. My family and I are starting to document things and will escalate to home office. I think it’s important that folks know ahead of time of what they might run into at the Oakwood VA location.

You have to be assigned a provider through the main VA office in Atlanta. Once you been assigned a provider you'll be able to get regular doctor appointment.
And the voice mail system never works. VA can call you but you cant get them!
Audiology testing is not done at VA OAKWOOD CBOC, but there is Audiology Support available. Contact your primary care team to request Audiology testing.
Audiology testing is not performed at VA OAKWOOD CBOC, but there is Audiology Support available by appointment.
I believe you can. They were asking everyone who came in if they wanted a shot when I was there.
Just a clinic. Has primary, dental, vision, labs, mental health. I think X-Rays too
VA OAKWOOD CBOC lab is open Monday-Friday 0730-1400. Please note that there are certain tests your doctor may order which will require you to go to VAMC ATLANTA.
Some xrays are able to be performed at VA OAKWOOD CBOC and you must have the printed order in hand to give to the technician. Please note that Xray services are provided by a contractor and they do not have access to your records, orders, or any other VA systems. Additionally, some Xray exams are not able to be performed at VA OAKWOOD CBOC and will need to be done at VAMC ATLANTA
It is clinic based. They will address your needs of course; however for emergencies should probably go to your nearest ER.
Yes, to make sure you're a veteran and are in the right place.
That will depend on if you have the papers, valid ID, etc. Assuming you have everything, maybe 10-15 minutes? If even that long... I remember it being pretty quick
If you have an appointment they generally take you on time. They don't really take walk-ins, you will have a long wait. They encourage you to call in and get a time rather than just walking in. That way, you wait at home rather than sitting there all day.
Hours are Monday - Friday 7:30AM to 4:00PM. Your boss will need to ensure they will give you the Rx rather than him.
There is a State of Georgia Veterans representative office here. Not 100% certain what you mean by VA advocate.
You would need to be already enrolled in the VA system for the Atlanta region, but if you are, then you could get your picture done there and take care of getting your VA patient ID
Yes, we offered mental health as well, podiatry, rheumatology, dental, nutritionist.
The answering system is actually done in Atlanta not at the facility.
What is TAP?
If you have a myhealthvet account, secure message them. They will get bacl to you.
You'll have to go to main VA Office in Decatur GA. and you will need your DD214 DL, AS card.
