Definitely one of the nicest trails in the valley. Bring enough water to be sure. Can be crowded on the weekeneds but worth every minute

Did this as a hike starting up the Ybar trail and then descending on Barnhardt. Absolutely stunning views throughout. Took us 8.5 hours, we're probably averagely fit hikers. Saw two other people the whole time. The trailhead is easy to find and has plenty of space.

it was a nice incline (about 2300 elevation gain) good work out very easy trail to follow clean and define a lot more shade then expected (u still need to bring plenty of water ) the weather was great at 80 degrees so not super hot but not super cool either...not much water today ...after the first 3 miles or so is relatively "flat" was able to jogged the majority of the remaining trail awesome views as u go around the mountain lots of wildlife it was definitely not as hard as I imagine base on some of the comments I read ....BUT BUT I would NOT do the loop again (did the 15.5 mile loop) only BECAUSE the last 4 miles or so are WAY TOO ROCKY not very enjoyable too worry about breaking an ankle lol trail #23 was awesome though!!! only gave 4 starts because of trail Y Bar trail ...I will definitely do trail again but as an IN and OUT and avoid the last 4 miles great place great area great weather didn't see anyone today (5.18.21) always nice solitude ....

Beautiful first backpacking trip. Trail to Dead Man's Creek from meadow campsite warranted a cooling full-clothed dip prior to hiking back up! Will be venturing back here for sure

There are no water stations. You will need to bring and pack in your own water. I should add that there is running water during wet times of the year, but you wouldn't want to drink it without properly sanitatizing it first.
I have seen horses on this trail but I would suggest experienced trail horses only!!! Very to rocky, small rocks and yes, narrow!
People have camp alongside the road but it would all be primitive camping. No facilities. No cites.
Depends on which falls you are talking about. Hawaiian Mist and Big Kahuna are the distance above. Deadman and Sandy Saddle are 19mi RT.
I would say difficult. No hands on climbing, but almost 3000 feet of elevation. Suggest starting early. There's no shade. With all that being said, it's a beautiful hike.
Technically the trail terminates at the junction with the Arizona trail. I am not sure of distance, but it is about 3300 feet of elevation gain over a long distance.
Yes.
