First, I’d like to start on a positive note… The location is great, and it is extremely convenient to have a bar/restaurant and general store within walking distance. When we saw staff and had interactions with them, they were extremely friendly and helpful. The food is ok, quick service, but limited menu, and nothing to write home about. Onto the nitty gritty… For the price per night, per family cabin all quality was lacking. I get that it’s not some fancy resort, and that we are paying to stay in older cabins, however, I sure hope someone takes notes and makes the much needed upgrades for future customers. I’d like to list some suggestions for the owners and management staff. These are things our family would of enjoyed as accessibility’s; 1. A table cloth for the picnic table out front and possible a large tub to fill with water to rinse feet before entering the property, or even a hose to spray sandy items. 2. It would have been helpful to have a small vacuum, a good broom and dust pain, and possibly a small wet swifter for the floors. 3. More than one extra trash bag, especially when cooking and prepping food. 4. Furniture that is a little more updated, and possibly a coffee table or something to put drinks on when lounging inside, or watching tv. 5. Black out curtains would be a nice touch, but what would be nice would be properly installed and working curtain rods. 6. Wooden chairs that don’t fall apart when you move them. 7. Pots with handles, frying pans, more than a few cups, a few plates and a few pieces of silverware. Paper towels would be appreciated or more than one dish towel. Pot holders for the handleless pans would have been appreciated. Also, just a thought… plastic bags, or Tupperware to pack food items for the beach. 8. There was plenty of sleeping space for our family of five, but beds that didn’t fold you and your husband into a burrito every time you slept would be nice. 9. Fly paper rolls or some sort of insect catcher. My son did make friends with several of the flys that lived in his room, however I wasn’t a fan of thinking I may or may not have eastern one or two of those bad boys while I slept. Fly shatters would be appreciated as well! 10. Clear instructions on the services that would be provided such as trash removal and towel replenishment. 11. Towels that would fit someone larger than that of a four or five year old. 12. Shade triangles or an umbrella would have been appreciated over the picnic table so we could sit out front and enjoy the views and music. (I get that you are wanting patrons to visit the bar, but just a thought, fix it up a bit and charge more for the cabins). People with small children don’t want to hang out at the bar, they want the kids to be happily playing inside after a long day at the lake, while we adults enjoy a few cocktails and snacks under some shade out front of their cabin, while taking in the lake views, and listening to music. 13. Another thought… posting clear parking signs for patrons. Our kids were playing and we were concerned with patrons not watching or knowing where to park. On a happier note, the kiddos really enjoyed catching the lizards and toads on the property. 14. Possible upgrade to real air fresheners like air wick, or plug ins, rather than hanging car fresheners, or better yet, provide a bottle of febreeze. 😝 Anyways, overall we made the best of it, and I hope you take into consideration some of these suggested upgrades. We really enjoyed the friendly staff and location! We would love to give it another try before recommending this property to anyone else.

Right on the beach! I wanted a place that was right on the beach so we could walk out with the kids and spend the day there. If that's what you are looking for, this is great place! The restaurant is sub-par in terms of good food though. No breakfast was served on the weekends but they offered brunch. The brunch started at 10am which delayed our day waiting for them to open. Eggs were super dry and the sausage was "pre-fab" meaning it was the kind you don't really have to cook. The bacon I couldn't eat. Hubby got biscuits and gravy. SOS is better but it was convenient. Because of the poor breakfast experience, we didn't eat dinner there so I can't really review the other food. The room was okay. The dishes were dirty in the cabinets so that was a disappointment. Did have a mixing bowl so I had to use a small bowl to mix up our pancake mix. No whisk. Yes, I expected basic kitchen items. The pans are old Teflon pans and were rusted in some parts. It is required to wash the dishes prior to departure and we had a sponge and soap to do so but only one cloth for drying/wiping. With the office closed on Sunday morning, this was a surprise and we did the best we could. The cabins are old and need some work but it was relatively clean. The worst part of the stay was we couldn't sleep because the cabin attached had people in it that let their toddler scream. I suspect they put their toddler in the room and closed the door. They never tended to the child to shush them so as not to disturb other patrons. Either that, or they were abusing the child because the kid would just scream for 30+ minutes several times throughout the night and early morning. Don't expect to sleep late. The curtains on the windows are basically see-through so the early sun shines through. After a long night with a screaming baby, this was an insult to injury. There was no water pressure in the bathroom sink. It dribbled out. The toilet ran most of the time. The shower handles are so old it was difficult to adjust the temperature. The people were nice and welcoming so I give it 3 stars. It wasn't an awful stay and no, I don't need 5-star but the pictures online don't adequately share what you get. I am thankful they had working A/C since the temp was over 100 degrees although on the lake like this, it never felt that hot. I am shocked this is a wedding venue but to each their own. I do appreciate the roof over our head and that they could accommodate our large family in one cabin. The fact that they were on the beach made it worth it.

Had such a great time at this place! The service was amazing, the food was amazing, our waitress was super amiable and friendly. We ordered jalapeno poppers for appetizer which were super fancy. The fish and chips is largely portioned for a great price. I ordered the ahi tuna appetizer as my entree and I was not disappointed! The chef even came out to talk to us and make sure that everything was perfect! Definitely will be back!
