Dental bonding and teeth whitening are always alternatives to receiving veneers. While veneers and dental bonding address many of the same issues, veneers provide superior durability and esthetic value. Traditional teeth whitening can be extremely effective for many patients, but whitening services only correct surface-level discoloration, and teeth that have been whitened can quickly become stained again.
Do you feel hesitant about smiling and laughing, even around your loved ones? Do you have a public-facing job and sense that your smile is holding you back? If so, porcelain veneers may be just what you need.
Dental veneers can treat stained teeth, chipped teeth, uneven teeth, tooth gaps and smile asymmetry.
Dental veneers are thin shells made of tooth-colored materials. They are designed to mask cosmetic imperfections that affect the front surfaces of the teeth. A little bit of enamel (less than 1 millimeter) is removed so the veneer fits properly. Placing one dental veneer or many veneers can give your smile a makeover.
If you have dental insurance, it will likely cover at least a portion of the cost of your crown, if it is needed for health reasons. Our knowledgeable team will work with you and your insurer to make sure you maximize your benefits.
With proper care, crowns are a long-lasting dental solution. On average, a custom-made all-ceramic dental crown can last 10-15 years. You can extend the lifespan of your dental work with proper aftercare.
No. Before your tooth is prepped, your dentist will numb the area to ensure you are completely comfortable during treatment. If at any point you feel any discomfort, let your dentist know so she can address the issue promptly. We want you to leave our office happy and be as comfortable as possible throughout your treatment.
First we will go through a consultation, then we will prep the tooth and take your impressions. After that a lab technician will work on the custom fabrication, and we will apply a temporary crown. After 1-2 weeks you will return to our office and we will place the permanent crown.
The benefits are boosted self confidence, lasting results, improved oral health, and improved oral function.
Cosmetic dentistry focuses on the aesthetics of the smile. Rather than changing the form and function of the patient's smile, cosmetic dentistry focuses on changing the appearance. While better function may result from cosmetic dentistry procedures, this is not the end goal.
Invisalign works well for the majority of our New Haven patients with mild to moderate dental misalignment. While traditional braces might still be the best option for severe cases, aligners can address most types of orthodontic concerns. Despite some common misconceptions, there is no age requirement for Invisalign and you are never too old to undergo treatment.
While most people undergo orthodontics to fix cosmetic concerns, treatment can also improve your oral health. When your teeth are evenly spaced, you can brush and floss more thoroughly and prevent tooth decay. Furthermore, clear aligners will properly align your bite, helping you avoid serious and painful jaw conditions.
While orthodontists are specially qualified to provide some orthodontic treatments, Invisalign is an orthodontic option that can give you the same fantastic results as braces with supervision from your cosmetic dentist. Choose Invisalign to skip trips to the orthodontist and achieve a beautifully straight smile from a team focused on esthetics.
