The Executive Director's hands on leadership is felt through out the facility, during all shifts and through out all departments. She's the one wearing scrubs pulling a mop bucket while engaging staff and residents as she navigates the hallway en route to whatever needs doing. She's the one responsible for ensuring delivery of the highest possible quality care during a time of unprecedented obstacles. The buck stops with her and yes, she is seriously direct and discusses tragic realities with staff, clients and families daily. My parents were in two facilities prior to moving north so we knew what questions to ask. We had experienced the consequences of inept and disengaged management, and it's not pretty or safe, or anything near what you are paying for, which is a staggering amount. We have now experienced a year at Providence in Lancaster. From day one, despite the herculean task of operating an assisted living facility, our parents received compassionate and most importantly, consistently, as prescribed, accountable care! The previous facilities were aesthetically nicer, but crown molding didn't help the terrible leadership get the job done. And this job is huge. You need to have a plan for everything and then a plan b, and c. That is what we have experienced at Providence Place as we moved in and then later separated our parents, placing our Dad in the "locked" apartment floor while my mom lived alone in an apartment on the less restrictive floor. Later that year, the team sat by ours and our father's side as he slowly passed. They were our greatest source of comfort and knowledge throughout his "actively dying" experience which lasted days. The leadership and team members have been a source of comfort for us in the darkest of times of our family history. I would mention these incredible professionals by name but they might not post this so I won't, but very reluctantly. The nursing, kitchen, dementia ward, reception, med techs and housekeeping staff have made me want to be a better person. The in-house leadership has been firm, fair and most of all, accountable for the care of my parents. I have been so humbled by the humanity of Providence Place. I am so grateful to have witness the many gifts of the people working there, past and present.

We had a horrible experience with my father here. Staff was poorly trained in memory care, administrative staff and some care staff was cold to our family and my father, and administration assured us that they could provide for all of his needs, and then asked him to leave, without any warning. We were told by former employees and present employees that this was not the first time that has happened. Providence Place promised a level of care they were unable to deliver. The front desk staff was wonderful however. We were so blessed to find an absolutely amazing care home for my father after Providence Place, and we finally got to see what genuine, loving, and comprehensive care looks like. He passed peacefully at the next care home, and we are eternally grateful to the staff, managers, and admin at that place; they were wonderful. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere than Providence Place for care. They do not provide memory care even though they may claim that they do.

I was working at Country Meadows when it was sold to Providence Place. Staff and residents were told “nothing will change but the sign”. That was the understatement of the century!! I will make a long story short. These dear souls lives were turned upside down. Their home as they knew it was being given away out of the Lobby and the staff they loved so dearly were dropping like flies. Management was no longer endearing and happy but now tyrannical and cold. To be clear, most of the staff that left would still be there but it seemed everything Country Meadows MUST go!! I would not recommend anyone bring their loved one here. No maintenance, no housekeeping, bare minimal and sorely overworked Nursing staff. I don’t know how Mr Leader can stand by and watch his E. D. run this place into the ground. Of course, this will probably be swept under the rug ( like so many other things here) as a “ disgruntled employee”. Not going to lie, this is true, however, I implore you to check out everything I posted and you’ll find it to be true. Someone certainly needs to advocate for these dear souls!

The Executive Director is uncaring, unkind, uncompassionate and impolite. The way she speaks to residents would be considered bullying. The don't have adequate staff for the number of residents on any of the three floors. Residents are not getting the care they need or what they pay for monthly. I would be appalled to send my mother or loved one to such a facility. They cant afford to hire staff but have money to buy furniture for the common areas. Where are their priorities? Residents needs should come above all else, this is not true of this facility. There main concern is money and not the residents. The have no housekeepers, so resident rooms are not being cleaned to standard. I'm surprised that the families of current residents have not called the state on this facility. David Leader the CEO is aware of what's going and has done nothing to correct the situation. These residents need someone to advocate for their rights.
