Great place! Went for two left with seven:) We were able to walk around unsupervised and take as long as needed to determine which chickens we wanted. The owner was super helpful and knowledgeable. Overall super fun to look at all the different breeds.

This is such a hidden gem around the Houston area! I was in search of Wyandotte pullets and was too afraid to ship newborn chicks as I didn’t have experience so a friend of mine recommended this place and I’m so glad he did! I got my first 3 Wyandottes from Mrs. Melinda then went back for 2 Splash Ameraucana’s. I’ve recently added a EE, Cuckoo Olive Egger, 6 new baby chicks(3 Wyandotte’s/1 cinnamon queen/1Cochin bantam/1polish)and 2 baby Pomeranian Geese’s from here! Definitely going back to purchase more soon as my sister and mother have now been sucked into having pet chickens!! Definitely recommend this place and the owner is super helpful! Which is a HUGE plus with me because I didn’t hardly know anything about chickens! I don’t live in the Houston area but it’s definitely worth the drive!

This place was a great experience. I apologize I forgot the lady's name, but she was very knowledgeable, nice, and helpful. She vaccinates her flock when they are of age, which is very important to us and many others. We brought our daughter and she had fun. Overall we enjoyed our experience as first timers, and would recommend her to anyone that is new to bird raising or even veterans. Thank you Seabreeze Hens.

I don't know what she does with all the dead chickens. But I'm pretty sure she's responsible enough to discard them the proper way.

I have an americana that is wheezing, what is the issue and should I get her away from the others?

David Dobecka | May 20, 2019

Wheezing can be a lot of things from normal to wrong. If she's sniffling, sneezing, or so at night during sleep then most likely she's fine. However... If she's doing it a lot consistently then that determines a respiratory infection. Isolate her from the flock put her in quarantine. If symptoms get better then put her back with her Kin. If it continues you have 3 options. 1. Go to a Vet (if you have money to spend). 2. Go to Tractor Supply or Ebay & look for 1st Aid (remedies) 3. Cull her (very unfortunate). If you end up having to snap her neck because you don't want to risk infecting the whole flock stick Ginger, Apples, Jalapeños, & even Apple Cider Vinegar in their water for their immune systems can boost & accumulate tolerance in the future. My whole flock drink ginger apple water every day. Makes a huge difference. Only thing not to put in their water that has vitaminC is any form or aspect of citrus. Other than that be creative.
