Within the last few months my wife and I went to view three "3D" movies. Unfortunately only one movie was actually 3D. The other two movies didn't show in 3D because of equipment/technical issues (as we learned after the fact from various staff). I also learned that the technical problem has been known for a significant time but they continue to advertise (and charge) the movies as 3D. Seems to me that the center has an ethical issue (in addition to the technical problem) that shouldn't be ignored. We won't return!

Great space! Was here for a special event so I can't comment on the actual center. The space is very inviting and easily handled the crowd that came. Hope the Harrisburg Board Game event can stay going forward.

I went today with my kids. The under 5 area was fun for my younger kids, but too many of the downstairs exhibits looked like they worked but did not work correctly, or were just outright broken or missing too many pieces to be used for my older kids. I realize some were closed on purpose for Covid issues, but there were things open that didn’t work. I became a member to go to the Franklin institute for free from another trip, and after a trip there, I was just disappointed so many things at our ‘home’ museum were not taken care of by other guests, or are in the shape they are in. Maybe it is how it is after a full summer of camps with heavy use and they will be by fixing/opening/replacing parts but the worker I saw there didn’t have two new double A batteries to replace for the snap circuits…. I think the Whitaker center science museum needs some TLC and some good corporate donors to build it back up to what it used to be with some new exhibits and new supplies for the fun activities they already have!

I wouldn't see why not, they have a section just for toddlers & younger children.

Thanks for your question. It depends on where you park. For any street or outer parking lot parking, the Market St. entrance, which is the main entrance, would your best choice. There is an elevator just inside the doors. If you parking in the Walnut Street parking garage, enter via the Arcade Level. There are a few steps up to the Whitaker Center doors, once exiting the garage elevators on the Arcade Level. Once inside the Whitaker Center, there is elevator access near the box office. Hopefully, this info is helpful. Thanks again for your interest.
Please see the following link for information on parking: https://www.whitakercenter.org/parking There is not a parking lot but street parking is available. Parking on the street is free after 5pm and all day on Sundays!
