Love this hike! It's very steep at the beginning, wouldn't recommend it for little kids or those who are not steady on their feet. The sights of the river are insane at sunset☀️

Beautiful day you have to work to get to

As many people have said, you park at the main road, and walk about a quarter of a mile to the actual trail head. Excellent views of the bridge on Hwy 93, and the Snake River. Very low water flow, has much of the rock ledges in the river, viewable, which is very cool. Remember to bring water, and be ready for an invigorating hike back up.

The trail is quite hidden: also super steep with loose gravel: quite a hike: scary in some spots. Would say it's challenging: not for little kids or anyone not in semi-ok shape--you go straight down into the canyon, then have to climb back out. You can access the falls by kayak instead--this would be a much more fun way to do it. However, once you are on the canyon floor, it's a different world down there. You can make your way across the river on the huge rocks, with little streams & pools everywhere. I felt like a little kid exploring the moon: had so much fun hopping over the rocks to see what was on the other side. We wandered & took pics for at least an hour & plan on going back again with better supplies (more water) & a drone. The climb back out was hard, but not as scary as going down. The trail does switch-back up the canyon next to a huge waterfall which is pretty cool to get that close to. At the top, it felt like an achievement accomplished.
