The doctor was competent, focused, and did her job effectively and seriously. All my questions she answered thoroughly and explained the rationale driving decisions around eyecare. You could tell she loved her job. My experience with other optometrists has been mixed, but I give this doctor's effort and information a 10/10 all the way.

I had my prescription updated here, as they were covered under my insurance. After having eyes checked by a pleasant and competent optometrist, I was sent over to a surly Russian gentleman for a set of glasses. He took my pupillary distance measurement with a special machine. When I asked him to provide me with that info along with my prescription, and he became agitated and began yelling at me that he doesn't have to provide it, and even had a preprinted sheet ready at his side to wave in my face, which he did not let me read. I was only provided with the most basic prescription with my spherical numbers. In fact, according to NY law, he IS required to provide that info according to 29.1(b)(7) and 29.2(b) of the Rules of the Board of Regents and section 18 of the Public Health Law. All measurements taken and recoded are to be provided on demand. When I returned to collect my regrettably purchased glasses, he demanded my insurance info again and told me he did not keep electronic records of where my glasses were. So keep note: you can only collect your glasses with your insurance # - I don't know why I wasn't told this initially. My glasses were simply handed to me unpleasantly - no adjustments were provided.

Optical illusion is the most professional optical establishment that I had ever visited. After having horrible experiences involving negligence and misdiagnosis in multiple opticals throughout Brooklyn, I’m extremely pleased to say I found the place I will be going to moving forward. The staff and doctors are more than experienced. They are also trustworthy and empathetic. I highly recommend them. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!
