Middle of summer (over 100 F outside), we had reservations. Walked into our room and it was over 75 degrees- maybe over 80. Turned on A/C like any reasonable person. An hour later, still hot in the one room (the other cooled down). My wife stepped over and mentioned it to the office. They said someone would take a look. (Didn't happen). Another hour later, I stepped over to the office, and they informed us that it was our fault because we had turned the A/C on high and it had frozen. They said they would send someone by to splash water on it to help thaw the coils (Didn't happen). No instructions on the unit to ease the unit on. Turned unit on fan-only for an hour. Then turned unit on low and room finally cooled. I understand that equipment has limitations. But knowing the equipment has limitations, take steps to help guests use it. Put instructions on how to get it to work on the unit or give guests a handout about it on hot days. Consider having the unit activated by the room cleaner in preparation for guests with reservations. If your people say someone will come take a look, make sure they do.

Our overnight stay turned into 3, then 4 nights after a car accident. The staff was kind and accommodating. We felt very safe here. The pool is nice, maybe a little heavy on the chemicals but there's a shower in the room after all. They had pool toys, goggles, towels and a hot tub available, too. There's a laundry room to use. They gave me extra coffee packs no questions asked and the coffee was actually good. The AC in the room worked well. The WiFi is good. The views are beautiful, there's a family dollar and lots of places to eat and shop within walking distance, it's like a 20 minute walk to downtown Cortez. The town is beautiful and pedestrian friendly.

The room was clean. It's an older motel. The breakfast consists of bagels and cereal and coffee. The price was cheap. Overall not bad for the price. The door doesn't always lock when we leave. Had to double check it every time we left. My daughter loved the pool.

Young gentleman who checked us in was very nice and pleasant. The room was clean and all room accessories worked. Unfortunately, there was no breakfast as advertised. When asked to use the hot tub, a lady at the front desk was very rude and said there were only certain hours the hot tub was available. It is not fair when you are paying for advertised amenities and you can't use them, let alone the staff being rude. You get what you pay for and the motel served its purpose for a roof over our heads for a couple of nights.
