trying to understand how to effect transfer of data from both cell phone and old old ipad to new ipad....tried to excecute phone first and was in a loop for about two hrs and still was going but I needed to use the phone...
For an art student, don't even think about anything but Mac. That's the only platform that they use. It's assumed that you have Apple. The configuration sounds right. Unless you have someone working for Apple, check the school store and compare the prices. You missed the tax free weekend, it's not much, but still, every bit helps, that's what I did.
Maybe you can register to classes but this is a sales shop

By now, most likely yes. If you want to make sure, check Apple website. If you order online and schedule an instore pickup, your order should be ready in an hour or two.
Hold down the power and home button until it restarts. If it still doesn't turn on, try to connect it to iTunes. If it doesn't show up there, then it would be time to make an appointment at your nearest Apple store, I'm afraid.
