Do not apply for a job here. Went in for an interview on September 14, 2022 for one position was offered the position and told I’d be called by Friday to get things set up. Didn’t receive a call I had to call them the following Sunday. When I called I was asked if I were interested in a separate position with same hours same pay and I accepted the position. Was asked to come in on the 21st to meet the director. When I went in on Wednesday I wasn’t “meeting” the director it was another interview. When I went into the interview Daniel didn’t even acknowledge I was in the room for at least 5 minutes because he was face deep in his phone. When he finally put it down the screen was still up and he was scrolling through Facebook. He then proceeded to pick up a half gallon of tea and drink it right from the gallon. He started asking me interview questions and anytime I tried to answer he would cut me off and was very rude. He then brought a second person in (Karen who was lovely) and we spoke for a little bit while Daniel got up and started yelling down the hallway looking for someone named Mary who was busy in an interview of her own. When she was done she came in and we spoke for a bit. During the time of us speaking Daniel continued to cut me off whenever I tried to answer a question as if he were being interviewed. He then ripped open a Twinkie and started eating it while talking leaving cream all over his upper lip. The interview was finally over and was told they’d call me by Friday. Well they called me today and asked me if I were interested in a part time position during the evening and weekends for minimum wage and part time when I specifically stressed to them my availability due to having small children. My availability was very clear and open on my application and my resume. Very unprofessional and will give you the run around trying to fill spots.

My 36 year old daughter died in this facility. The understaffing and overworking of the staff is what killed her. After months of an illness they couldn't diagnose (some staff said UTI). She had all of her mental faculties for 4 years after a brain injury paralyzed her. Until she arrived at Northwood. I could see her going downhill, then covid19 hit & talking or seeing ANYONE there became impossible most of the time. I'm speaking with a group of half a dozen other's who have lost family there because the owner values money over lives. PS: if you have family there hide any valuables. Even better: get your loved one out.

My mother was a resident for a week. Horrible experience. She arrived on Wednesday, but the kitchen didn't know she was there until Saturday afternoon. Blamed on the Nurse, but I say that is illogical. That is a management issue. They knew my mother was coming. The nurses are completely overworked. Having to stop the care of your loved one to go answer the door and let you in, or to let you out. My mother was in quarantine to ensure she didn't have Covid, which I was not aware of, because she came from the hospital where she was tested, yet no one wore protective gowns or anything different when visiting her room. When they did come in they would pull down their mask while working with her. The main aide talked non stop of another SNF she worked at and how she would go back in a heartbeat... IF THEY WOULD HAVE HER, but she was let go and was not rehirable. She also did a couple big big no no's that I won't go in to. The food was horrible, and my mother was given rotten food, when she finally got it. I write this, because there is a big 5 star banner on the building, but I don't buy it. People will say I am not telling the truth... but Northwood will know and that's the important part. Make changes Northwood. These are real people. And for God's sake get your nurses who I really liked, someone to monitor that entrance!!! I know staffing is a struggle right now, but nurses shouldn't have to monitor that door.

Is it true that you have a bed bug problem?

Jeri Branham | Oct 14, 2018
Daniel Wylie | Oct 13, 2021

That is not true. Any time you have a group of individuals living communally and they have visitors in and out, there is a risk of crawling critters coming in. However, as long as I have been in this facility, I have not seen nor heard of any issues with bed bugs!

I want someone to answer the phone please, or is there a better number?

Donna has this been resolved for you?

Do you hire at 16?

I don't work here i just moved my mother from this place this past weekend but to answer your question most nursing facilities do not hire at 16 because of the equipment used and some of the residents can become violent and it would be a lawsuit against for hiring at a young age

R u hiring for housekeeping?

What is this place like? Clean? Sanitary? food?

Horrible place. Unclean. Lots of temporary staff. My father in law was there and contractef C-Diff There state survey reports were a nightmare with major violations. My father in law was discharged there from the hospital and we got him out of there fast. Currently they are under investigation because a staff member left the med cart unlocked and some residents stole medication. I did nursing home placements when I did social work. No matter where you place your loved one, the ombudsman office will advocate for you if you are unable to get issues resolved or if you think your loved ones rights are being violated. As for Eaglewood, just run.
