There is something serious wrong with HSS’s practice. I had pain in my lower back and my hamstrings and calf are very tight. A PT told me my hamstrings had second degree tears. After many treatments my condition didn’t improve so I went to HSS sports medicine to check up my hamstring. The doctor used ultrasound and said he didn’t see any tears in hamstrings. So I asked why my hamstring is still so tight. He said it could be it’s still healing …… it turns out my adductors are the problem. When I made appointment, I was asked which body part. I said I am not sure maybe it’s my hamstrings so HSS sports medicine doctor only looked at my hamstrings not thinking anything else. A patient goes to hospital like HSS bc conditions couldn’t improved with PT and seeks second opinion but apparently HSS doctor is not thinking or not capable of thinking. It sucks.

I hate giving 1 star but the lack of communication in this hospital was quite shocking. It’s clear notes are not taken between nurses and doctors (for example I had to fight tooth and nail for my basic diabetes medicine; my surgery was openly forgotten about; I had to explain to each nurse why I couldn’t have a medication bc it causes heart problems in my family - they gave it to me any way; endocrinologist said they came to see me to help me get back on my insulin pump but they never did). It made for a very traumatic experience which, as an appendectomy patient, certainly didn’t need to be.

An amazing place. If you must have orthopedic surgery, this is the best place in the US and possibly in the world. Everything is geared to make it easier for patients. If you have a hip problem, Dr. Bryan Kelly is the top hip repair specialist in the country, possibly in the world. Put all your exams, X-rays and MRI together and send them or bring them to him ASAP. He'll look at them and call you if you are within his field of care. He's kind, considered, and even being the top gun at the hospital, he's available to talk to his patients and answer all questions. And he knows all there is to know, and then more, since he does all kind of research, and finds the best way to do what needs done.

Call the phone number for the main hospital and ask for the billing department. All questions about insurance, Medicare and Medicaid coverage cannot be answered on a website since the answer can change over time.

No, it's primarily an orthopedic hospital, which specializes in problems with bones. You need a vascular or cardiovascular physician.
Can you provide the address and phone number for the NJ campuses?
These are physicians and surgeons. Not chiropractors.
24 hours! But they are "quiet hours" at night
Is there an emergency room
The hospital it self yes but individual clinics you would have to call and ask
https://www.hss.edu/playbook/stem-cell-therapy-right-move-athlete/ https://news.hss.edu/hss-researchers-launch-clinical-trial-to-determine-if-popular-stem-cell-therapy-can-protect-damaged-knees-from-osteoarthritis/ Based on the info given in the above links, looks like HSS started testing stem cell therapy in 2018. They take most insurances so feel free to swing by for a consult. Hope this helps!
Parking is not validated and its very expensive throughout the area

Call their Scleroderma, Vasculitis and Myositis Center. I am pretty sure that they would have someone there who might be able to help her
I meant in touch with a specialist
You whould need to ask the individual doctor and the billing dept. of the hospital. One of my physicians actually accepted my insurance after he had stopped accepting that plan. He was that nice. Ask!
But, of course! Call the hip and spine division.
You didn't indicate which nerve. If it is the brachial plexus, call the hospital and ask about the nerve injury team. They can refer you to the proper people who can answer your questions at the hospital.
Yes, however the patient needs to be in a private room without another patient in it and the hospital also has a hotel attached to it.
I believe they do. Best check their website. Absolutely the best orthopedic hospital you will find.
Call the hospital and make one!
I would go to Memorial Sloan Kettering first, right down the street. If they refer you to HSS, then they whould collaborate. They collaborated with my plastic surgeon from NY Presbyterian.
Call the hospital and ask. I would venture to say that they do but I am not certain about this.
That surely depends on whether you need a total knee replacement, a partial knee replacement or something else. You would first need to know what TYPE of knee surgery you need before getting specifics about how much it would cost you. See one of their knee surgeons and find out.
Yes, and they have been active in clinical trials with stem cells as well
There is a parking garage right on 71st St.
Check their website or call the hospital directly. They will tell you which insurance they accept.
These people are the BEST at Orthopedic issues. Go to one of their spine docs and ask him.
They take most insurances, but the best bet is to call the hospital directly to see which providers accept your insurance.
They treat ALL orthopedic injuries
I feel for you, but I believe since you're in Turkey treatment of you problem might be easier to get in the European Union. I know this might not be what you hoped for, but with immigration into the US being so difficult, the EU might be the better option.
With no insurance you probably must pay out of pocket, but they may have some sort of financial assistance. Call them!
Call the hospital and explain your situation, they'll guide you through the process.
I believe they take most insurances, but to be sure call the hospital directly, they will guide you through the process.
I agree with Larry. Call the hospital! They will tell you which insurance plans they accept and direct you to the doctors in the spinal division. The website also can answer many of your questions and direct you to a spinal doc.
Call the hospital directly with that question.
I always get either public transportation or a ride in but the lots on 71st are available and the easiest...
Just call the hospital and ask for him.
They accept most insurance, but do yourself a favor and call the hospital to make sure your condition and proceedure is covered and to what extent.
Please call the hospital directly. They will give you all the answers that you need.
Yes! Preferably 7 days in advance, but at least 48 hours. Otherwise, you could bleed to death because ibuprofen causes blood to thin.
As Larry said, be sure that your doc takes Emblem. Hospital probably does but call first to be sure!
They proably do, but call them tell them what you need and they'll set you up with the right provider.
Call their Center for Hip Preservation and ask them
There is a parking garage on 71st St.

You must call the hospital. They will give you all the info you need.
Please call the hospital directly. They will have your info.
You have to check directly with the hospital.
Only if you need to be admitted after surgery!
Are you talking about the HSS portal or Google Local? Either way I can't see that as a problem. If it's Google Local, see, you just received a response.
That's a question that must be answered by the hospital, not the local guides. Call them, explain your condition bith physical and financial and see what the say.
You'll have to call them on that one.
Not sure they specialize in orthopedics, rheumatology, spine, other specialties, and offer physical rehabilitation/therapy also. I don't know their # off the top of my head. Call the hospital for more information.
Yes they do.
Some do. Call the hospital to get the right surgeon.
Many doctors do, but check first with the individual practioner yo see if he's a provider.
They do surgery for degenaritive disc disease. Most ppl complain about complications at other hospitals after surgery and wind up coming here for continued medical care. I'm not sure about the discs being rehydrated though. Call the hospital for more information.
Yes, off 71st Street. Watch out for very tight turns.
