Questions & Answers

How long does it take to be sponsored by marriage (citizen) now? How much does it cost to conduct such a case? Thank you

Currently, sponsorship by married couples takes approximately 9-12 months. However, please be aware that there may be delays due to COVID-19.

My daughter has been married to an American citizen for 5 years. He has had a green card for a year. Can they start sponsoring as a marriage to get a green card for me or do I have to wait for my daughter's citizenship?

A permanent resident (green card holder) cannot sponsor his parent. You have to wait for your daughter's citizenship.

My mother has a valid green card indefinitely and in Poland at the airport in Warsaw they did not want to let us go to the States because they said that this card is not important I know why it is so.

The green card, which has no expiry date, is still an important document confirming our permanent resident status. However, please remember that such documents are very old and have practically no security - this may have aroused the suspicion of an official at the border. Please also remember that if my mother has been outside the US for over a year, the situation is getting more complicated - this type of matter requires consultation.
