The word retail is appropriate for this type of store...you buy items..not quantities of stuff..as you would at a wholesale store like BJs or Costcos...retail stores charge a higher price than wholesalers...but who wants to buy things in bulk unless you are running a business or have a big family or simply just like to buy things in bulk..like toilet paper or diapers...then you would go to a wholesaler...not a retailer.
