For kindergarten, you need to go to the nearest public school with proof of address, the birth certificate of the child, immunization record and ID for yourself. You should bring the child with you as well. No need to go to the board of ed to enroll for K.

for elementary school, all you need to go is go to your zone school with the child and take proof of address, immunization and an ID for yourself. For middle school and HS you should go to the board of ed if you don’t want your child placed in the zone school and go through the selection process. The board of ed for the Bronx is located on 1 Fordham Plaza. You have to take the child with you in order to be seen.
