I've adopted twice from this place and my overall experience has been good the most recent adoption Fiona we noticed some missing information on her medical records and we took her to the vet and had her tested it turned out she did in fact have hookworms and tapeworms. Although she'd been tested at the Humane society and been initially treated she was never given a final all clear test. If you adopted a puppy from Suncoast about a week ago please have your puppy tested for hookworms and tapeworms Fiona had five brothers and sisters that were all adopted on the same day.

We adopted a puppy about a week ago and the staff and volunteers were so good to us. She was raised with her siblings and had a great foster home. They even sent a care package for our little puppy. She is so well behaved already and was taken very good care of. They also spay and their adoption fees are very affordable! Great experience

Joey is such a character and lovable! He’s smart as ever and adapted extremely well for a 2 mo old! Love him to pieces 💕

Thank you for these precious girls. We fostered these two that had been named already however they are now called Pearl & Finley, they have brought so much love and joy, thank you for taking such excellent care of them as they waited for their forever home... they are Home ! x

You can call them for info. They have prices for shots, nail trims,, spay and neuter, heartworm and flea and tick meds which are extremely competitive. Clinics are on Mondays and Fridays by appointment.
Yes almost all your preventative needs and friendly professional staff as well, all at a fraction of the cost. Thanks to donors, sponsors, and programs.
I'm pretty sure they do just like any other humane society I'm willing to bet as long as it's healthy and edible and it won't harm the animals I'm sure they don't mind taking it in
I want him but i want all of them.
I would say but depends on the age before the can be adopted. They open at 11 . People there are really nice.
Hi Fran! Thank you for your question. We are always in need of blankets for the fur babies. You can drop off your donations to either of our thrift stores or contact us at 941-474-7884 to make an appointment to drop off at the shelter. Thank you!
Hi Cheryl! Currently, our Drive-Up Preventive Health Clinic is operating on Mondays and Fridays, and we can definitely update your pet's microchip information. Give us a call at 941-474-7884 to schedule an appointment. Thank you!
They ABSOLUTELY DO spay and neuter there! I had my puppy neutered there in July....they did a great job, the staff is beyond amazing and the vet there is phenomenal! It cost me $75 to have my puppy neutered....
they do have a vet there to check the animals but for the normal vet care you would need a regular veterinarian at the society though clip nails keep the shots updated but other than that you need to vet
Yes. I'm a volunteer there and i can honestly answer that they offer spaying and neutering
Sister passed away and left 4 dogs that were taken there. Will be available today 2/10
Contact the Suncoast center and ask to become a volunteer. They need staff in the cattery especially.
I cannot answer for them. Call their main number and ext 404. I believe they will @ 5 months .
Yes. There is a clinic for shots, heartworm prevention and spay and neuter services. Call for an appointment.
I have used Suncoast for a number of years and are very satisfied with the service they provide for my animals
They do trim nails, not sure if the cost of the shot
Don't know. I doubt it
I was a foster to sweet Elsa. I don't work there. I would suggest you go to a breed specific rescue. If you want a sweet, really well behaved mixed terrier, Elsa would be a wonderful pet. Also, you can check the dogs available on their website.
Hi Riley! You can contact our clinic at 941-474-7884 and they can schedule an appointment for your cat to be neutered. You can also visit our website www.humane.org to request an appointment.

I think so. I couldn't afford anywhere else and went there last October to put my fur baby (16+yrs.) to rest. I was able to take and bury her in a friend's backyard. Crematory services don't allow you to have the ashes though and cost double. I'm sure it's still cheaper than at a veterinarian office. Hope this helps.
Hi Debbie. We can absolutely neuter a kitten and give him preventive health shots. All services are by appointment only. Please call us at 941-474-7884 for updated pricing and to schedule an appointment.
Hi Cathie. Unfortunately, we do not provide teeth cleaning services at this time. We recommend contacting your veterinarian for more options. Thank you!
Yes, but give them a call first
Hi Tom. We are so sorry for your loss. We understand this question was about 11 months ago, but would like to take the opportunity to answer it, in the event that someone else reading this needs answers. We do offer owner-requested euthanasia and cremation services. You can read about all of the options on our website: https://www.humane.org/services/owner-requested-euthanasia/
I'm not sure I would call ahead and check
The main number listed on Google...
Don't know call them they're very understanding they definitely work with you on the prices
Yes they do. As well as doing all other preventable health. Shots, heartworm and flea medicine and spaying, stuff like that.
Suncoast asks that you make a donation of an amount comfortable for you. None is required. I know their adoption fees increased but I am not aware of a required donation for a surrender. Your cat will receive a good home. I have met many many people who have adopted cats and dogs from Suncoast and are absolutely in love with their new friend.
John Hawk is correct on his answer. This is a very good facility.
Yes they do. There is a small charge & you need to call ahead. You may also adopt or foster a pet if you get lonely
They are good people.
Not 100% sure but I think they do have dog training classes
Nail trims are actually $18.00 by appointment on a Wednesday or Friday. To set an appointment please call 941-474-7884 ext 401 ! Thank you.
The best thing to do would be to call them
I really appreciate the thought 💝...all my dogs are over 90 pounds. But thank you anyway 😊
Bring her in or call yo schedule an appointment.
No they don't do exrays.
Not your cat...cant be spayed
You can arrange cremation through Suncoast, I believe. They contract out to Pet Passings. I would call for information.
Humane society wont do surgery of any kind (other than spaying/neutering & related). They sent me to Lemon Bay Animal Hospital which is close to the shelter. My dog had about 9 teeth removed there.
They do have a vet on call if they need to be treated
Hi Patsy! Yes, we are a nonprofit organization. We are supported by individual donations. We receive no government aid, nor are we funded by national humane societies, SPCA’s or other animal welfare organizations. Our programs, services and the animals entrusted to our care, depend solely upon community support.
This site won't answer that question. You will have to call them
