Too late to experience the Festival of Lights now, but there's always 2022!!! We have been attending the past 4 years and it has been awesome every time. Entire family looks forward to it along with our annual out of town guests. In the off season, countless outdoor things to do. Just go, bring your dog, kids, bike, fishing gear, RV and walking shoes.

We came here for our day Trip on Christmas Eve and let me tell you that this was the highlight of our day! There was over 4 million decorated Christmas lights on the park. We went to the Christmas village first and parking was pretty easy. We did went in early though or else parking will be difficult to find. There was alot of stuff to do on the village. There was rock climbing, food stalls, carousel, train rides, and shops. Staff were great as well. Secondly, we drove the Christmas Lights 3 mile trail and it was magical! If you have kids, this is a must. There are themes such as planets, toy theme, and animal theme, etc. We drove about 3 times around it, and it still are a equally amazing. This place is a must for Christmas.

Holiday Festival of Lights has a delightful light display and cheery Christmas music. Definitely stop at one of the parking lots and walk the inner circle to view more lights or take a train ride. Fun for all ages.

We came for the holiday lights. It's our first Christmas in Charleston and we found out new holiday light tradition. It was beautiful! I recommend taking the walking path after you drive through. We also took our daughter on the carousel and she loved it. Really great family event.

There is no season for blue crabs in South Carolina. You will not have to wait for the DNR to open the gates and allow crabbing in SC. The only thing that is going to prevent you from pulling in crabs is the water temperature.
2 sounds right, but they are good people and might work with you
Must pay park admission 2. $ per person
No you have to pay for those in advance.
For a day pass, to get in the park, its $2 per person. Other activities, such as the climbing wall, and the water park, or campgrounds, have additional various fees.
Yes
Go to Charleston County PRC site.
Yes I saw 12 cabins, I don't know how much.

We went there today and it was open and fishing is open as well
Call the James Island county for more information about the ornaments
No flooding
Yes, but you have to clean up after them! I took mine to the office to get my Gold Pass
Very! Several of the CCPRC parks have dedicated big and small dog parks as well as welcome dogs on leash.
I advise booking camp spot in advance. Day activities should be ok for just showing up.
I've been there camping numerous times minimum 4 days at a time. Never saw a dog really try to swim across the lake. It's a pretty big lake, and too many fun things to do in the park. I have two dogs I camp with.
There is a button to purchase the ornament ornament on the web page below (highlight the link, copy, and paste in to your browser): https://www.holidayfestivaloflights.com/ornament
I am not sure you could call the Park office and ask them or gollie it
I'm pretty certain that the campground is open year-round. Just go to their website and give them a call. They don't have online reservations.
I believe that rule is meant for day use rental sites. At state parks no alcoholic beverages can be displayed at any time but this is a county park.
The best way for large RVs or fifth wheels to get to the James Island County Park Campground is by going down to Camp Road. This is route has the least amount of low lying limbs. Below is a link to google map directions from Folly Road (highlight, copy and paste in to browser) https://goo.gl/maps/eQjSgpUmC8L2
It's 2$ to get in...maybe the year long pass has a discount.
There is a water park that has an extra fee attached. But included in the entrance fee there is a sprinkler area for kids.
I was recently there a few weeks ago and I don't recall seeing one. However I only went to the play ground and splash play area
