Beautiful park! It's free - and there is free parking - so you can spend as much or as little time here as you would like. I brought a blanket to sit on under a shaded tree and walked around the little pathways. I saw people on bikes that are for rent as well - people having a photoshoot - and other activities happening with kids. I would say it's pretty safe, but unfortunately I did see a homeless person or two nearby. Would definitely recommend taking a stroll through and checking it out!

Great underutilized Park downtown Charleston, once the site of the World's Fair.

Really nice park to walk around in with the big live oaks and gardens

Lovely pathways lined with Live Oaks, Crape Myrtles, and native plants. Seasonal plantings full of butterflies and bees. This is also a perfect spot for birdwatching. Beautiful, tranquil ponds and fountain...a gem!

Yes.. otherwise go to the dog park at Grove & Rutledge for unleashed fun.
You need to call the the city park service they will get you all the info you need.
The park is like a large island with the main road circling it. There are several parking lots around it, so knowing where in the park the event is located will determine which parking lot is closest. Hope this helps.
The outer track is and there is a bike/walking lane.
Yes unless specifically reserved through the parks dept.
Gazebo (close to the kids' playground and near the pond (close to the parking lot and bathrooms.
7AM till sunset
Yes parking is available but it is limited. You can also park in the neighborhood across the street and walk over.
No, and you probably would not want to eat anything out of there.
You know, I've never noticed. There are a few picnic tables around the duck pond, I'll check on my bike ride tomorrow. You could bring your own portable grill, that's permitted AFAIK. -edit- There used to be grills, I spoke to a park employee who said they had all been dug up and stolen over time! It's perfectly fine to bring your own grill with you.
Sorry. I don't know.
