Really cute and free science center. My 5 year old daughter loved it.

We used to go on field trips to Fernbank! This is a very distinguished institution, rich in history and education! Every child and adult should visit Fernbank!

My family liked it a lot. Some people gets confused with the museum (this is the science center) but there is space stuff and animal stuff. All fun. And the exhibitions are free!

About a half hour. We, including the kids, really enjoyed it. Great presenter.
There's a show every hour starting at 11am on Saturday, with the last show starting at 3pm. Do check the calendar on the website at fsc.fernbank.edu though as there may be special event going on
What do you mean? Fernbank Science Center is open Monday through Saturday most of the year except for the Saturdays of Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and sometimes Memorial Day and Independence Day. As part the DeKalb County School District, we also have modified hours during the Winter Holiday Break. We were open last Thursday and Friday (Dec 26-27) and will be open again on January 2-3 before resuming normal operations on January 6. Monday through Wednesday the exhibit hall is open to the public from Noon until 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday the hall is open from Noon until 9 p.m. with planetarium shows at 3, 4, 7, and 8 p.m Saturday hours are 10 a.m until 5 p.m. with planetarium shows at 11 a.m. noon, 1, 2, and 3 p.m. The observatory will resume normal operations on Thursday, January 9, 2020. It is open on Thursday and Friday nights from 9 until 10:30 p.m. as long as there are no clouds. The complete schedule always is available at www.fernbank.edu.
There is no admission fee at Fernbank Science Center. The only fee is for planetarium shows.
See the planetarium schedule at http://fsc.fernbank.edu/planetarium.htm
The observatory is open on Thursday & Friday nights until about 10-10:30.
I'm not sure what that is.
Yes, check out groupon for the best offer.
I went on Groupon and got two tickets for $14. The museum is free.
Dogs are not allowed
About 45 min to an hour
Yes...you can take a three year old. Normally whe. I visit there are young children around that age you can also check their website to see what type of planetarium show that they're going to have the last time when they talked about the planet they had Sesame Street as part of the presentation
It's about a mile away, so a 5 minute drive
You can do either or. Most people just walk in and let the front desk you they want to attend the shows. If I remember correctly, they do reserve you so there isnt any overfilling and such.
Fernbank Science Center is an active ASTC member and we recognize memberships from other institutions within the rules of the ASTC Passport program, however ASTC membership is not for individuals. Institutions are members of ASTC and have reciprocal agreements with other ASTC member institutions. If you become a member of an institution that is participating in ASTC then you automatically receive the benefits of the passport program. However, FSC does not offer a membership program for individuals at this time. General admission to Fernbank Science Center is free and does not require a membership! Planetarium programs are $5 for students and seniors and $7 for adults.
I have no idea about that one
Free to get in. They have a donation box in front of the door. The shows cost, I'm not sure how much though cause I had a Groupon.
The museum is free, the shows cost. I'm not sure how much though cause we had a Groupon.
No, and to be honest nobody can. The places that advertise that service are creating their own star catalog. No professional astronomer will recognize it, let alone know about it.
The museum part is free. I'm not sure about the planetarium.
I do not think it is needed. It was free for us to visit, but the planetarium is a separate charge
