I STRONGLY recommend NOT using DCC. I am an attorney whose client used DCC. Unfortunately, DCC was late in providing test results to us. DCC sent us a paternity test when we requested a maternity test. Then we asked multiple times for the maternity test to be sent. In fact we requested the maternity test three times. DCC responded with an incomplete fax twice. So, we asked for an email with the scanned results instead. The email, however, was not sent in time. All of these requests were made by me or my client multiple times - to no avail. We were therefore unable to provide USCIS with the DNA results in our RFE response in the allotted time - though we began the process well ahead of time and were assured by DCC that they would be timely. Further, the staff was rude. Also, the representative argued with me that “paternity” results is a generic term that also refers to maternity results. Ridiculous! Forget using this company - especially if you are trying to satisfy USCIS RFE’s. DCC is unreliable.

This is the lab that our law firm used to establish paternity of a high-profile public figure whose father (the child’s grandfather) was a candidate for President of the United States at the time of DNA testing. DNA Solutions’ entire team (Megan, Liz, and Dr. Anstead) were easy to work with and facilitated a unique situation for DNA testing. They allowed my client, her child, and the putative father to personally meet and appear for DNA testing at their lab. They allowed the attorneys to view the samples as they were collected. All three samples (father, child, mother) were collected on site and two simultaneous samples were tested the same day, which gave us same day DNA results while we waited. They allowed both me and the putative father’s attorney to enter their lab and observe the testing process. They answered every question we asked and even told us when something important or significant with the samples was about to happen. Having worked with the legal aspects of DNA testing in the court system for years, I can definitively say that this lab has to be one of the best DNA testing facilities in the United States. It is no surprise that this lab is so highly regarded and accredited. I cannot recommend DNA Solutions, Inc., enough and will definitely use them again in the future if needed.

Can a grandparent do a dna test?

Grandparents can be used in place of a missing alleged father to establish a paternal lineage. Both paternal grandparents are best for testing but one can be sufficient. We also recommend testing the child's mother for the highest probability results.
