This place is truly a God send! I was homeless, living in my car and missed out on job opportunities because I didn't have the proper clothing. This place decked me out and gave me the confidence to land not just one job, but two! Thank you so much DRESS FOR SUCCESS!!

They do something real special for the community. Getting people ready for work with clothes and more. It’s difficult times and they are there to help.

I've long been a fan of this organization in other states, but I had a bad experience in OKC today. I'd put aside some nearly new, cleaned, well-made suits, jackets, tops, dress shoes, etc. -- no casual wear or worn items -- kept them through the loss of the old building, the finding of a new location, then recently called to confirm the new address and kind of clothing they were accepting. A friend went to considerable trouble on a hot Friday morning only to find parking nonexistent, building addresses not marked, etc. He finally found the right door, where a sign announced "last Fridays of month only," although the person I talked with on the phone told me that was no longer the case, they were now accepting every Friday (as it says on the web site). Then she glanced at the clothes and told him they didn't want them -- they only accepted a very few styles, like black dress pants... Well, ok. We made it through the rest, but someone could have saved us a lot of trouble by being more up front about precisely what brands, types, colors DFS would and would not use. I'm truly happy for the people who are able to get what they need here, so kudos for that. From a donor's experience, though, not so much. LATER - Thank you for the courteous response. I know your goals, and intentions are positive and understand the reasons for your more recent donation decisions. I stand by our specific experience, in person, with your web site, and on the phone. Your web site, when I looked recently, did say "no casual -- just clothes you would wear to an interview." I looked at it at least once a month for quite a long while. Maybe in the meantime, you have brought it up to date in line with this reply. Also, some appreciation for the effort we made wouldn't have been amiss, even an apology for your part in making this a fruitless trip on a hot, busy day would have been a nice touch. Even the best of us -- and I think DFS is -- can get better from actually hearing their feedback.
