Lovely campground. Good mix of nature and amenities. Great location- 10 minute drive to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor. Great customer service- everyone was very helpful. We liked the convenience of adding firewood, ice, coffee, or whatever else we needed to our online account and paying everything at once when we checked out. Definitely planning to return next season!

One of the best campgrounds I’ve ever been to. Everything is so well maintained and properly organized. Clean and neat restrooms. Great place, we really enjoyed our stay.

Wow, what a gem. We tent camped and found everything we needed. We basically used it as a spot to sleep and didn't take advantage of the water sport options but they looked excellent. It was less than ten minutes to Cadillac Mountain gate and about twelve to downtown Bar Harbor Quiet and lots of trees. Platform spots on the water looked amazing but our tent for six would not have fit which was fine. The doughnuts at the Gathering Place were delicious on Tuesday morning. The staff was sweet and the best part was the limited length of the trailers made it quiet even more with out larger trucks hauling in big pull behinds

Nice campground with some stunning sites right on the water. Other sites are great as well,.and the Gathering Place is a wonderful idea. Bathrooms are clean. I'd give this place 5 stars if not for the pay showers. This is pathetic. $1 for five minutes. Quarters only. What are you thinking??? Ridiculous.

Keep in mind you're only allowed one car per campsite. Additional cars need to be parked by the main road at the entrance, which is nowhere near the campsites.
I'm positive I saw people there with pets, but you can probably look at their website or call to be sure.
Hello- sorry, we close for the season on October 9. You may want to try Blackwoods Campground.
You can reserve a site on their website. It's very easy to use, you get to pick the site you want to camp on, and you can see pictures of the sites.
There's a walmart in Ellsworth.
We checked in early, but you have to make sure there isn't someone in the site
The restrooms are cleaned throughout the day and are some of the cleanest I've seen in a campground.
Yes, there are picnic tables and fire pits on all sites. For launching a canoe there is a boat ramp and also a public dock.
