We got here as soon as they opened, 9:30am on a Wednesday. There is parking in the Ronald Reagan building, North Atrium Parking (green signs). There was no wait to get in, and it was practically empty. My daughter had so much fun! It is extremely clean, bathrooms too! There is a cafe area with a few nice options, but you are also allowed to bring your own food in and eat in that area too. We stayed here for over 3 hours, we will definitely be returning!

My granddaughters ages 9 and 5 smiled and laughed for almost three hours. I happily watched them enjoy. The staff here are especially kind. Everything was first class. Highly recommend.

I’ll give it 4 stars but I’m not solid on that number. -Note: I edited this to remove the 5th star. I wasn’t sold on it and I hate leaving a bad review. 4 stars seems to high imo but I’m leaving it as it does mostly deliver as advertised. Pros: definitely engaging to small children. Has a lot of various activities geared towards the different age groups. Clean restrooms. Clean play area. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Very alert to who was entering and who were inside. Cons: felt small and underwhelming. Felt overcrowded at some points. Compared to the hype of the website, it wasn’t worth it. Did not feel the $70 for my family of 4 (myself, my husband, my adult daughter, and my 5 yr old son) to take my son too was worth it. I paid for my son to enjoy it but to pay almost 20 for adult tickets - don’t waste your money. I get paying for children but for adults to pay that much was senseless. Maybe a companion charge of $5 to generate some income but that was beyond ridiculous. Basically you’re paying to supervise your child playing. Other con would be limited seating for the play floor. Last thing that’s more of a preference, one of the activities, inside out emotions, wasn’t open (website stated it would be).

Go ahead and pay your $1595 per person if your child is over 1 you're paying go let the child go have a good time you watch your child you sit on low benches and you just enjoy the time there's a little cafe on the lobby entrance you got to pay for your tickets in advance online they'll give you a window of time to be there if you're not there during that window time you forfeit your money and your time slot but just go ahead and have a good time the food court inside it doesn't have much possibilities is bright you can't open up the windows but just go ahead have a good time there's like three levels

My daughters really enjoyed our trips to the former cite and they are now saddened by the apparent absence of any record or photo documentation of that cite. Has anyone created or planned a presentation to honor or memorialize the former museum?

When will there be activities going on?

Hello Tiffany! You can check for special events and programs on our website at https://nationalchildrensmuseum.org/calendar/. Please also consider signing up for our newsletter in the footer of our website or following us on social media to stay in the loop on programming and activities. Often times, there will be programming in the Museum's Tinkerers Studio, a 21st-century learning lab and classroom space located on Floor 1 of the Museum. Plus, you may stumble upon surprise pop up programs, which—true to their name—pop up throughout the space without advance notice.
