This place has been around for the longest. My dad as a kid used to take me there for night crawlers. They are still open and still friendly.

This guy likes to rip off people. Went in to get a quart of crab and charge me $10.00 for it while other bait shop only charge $4.00 for a quart of crabs. Then sell me a size 3 Snell hook comes in 6 per pack for $5.00. I don't recommend anyone to come here unless your a fool to be one and likes to get rip off.

I moved to Rhode Island a few months ago and have stopped by this place a handful of times for bait for freshwater fishing. Today I had had occasion to speak with the owner for a few minutes -- super nice guy, very welcoming, quick, and friendly service. And good prices. I'll be making Ocean State my go-to fishing store.

Best bait shop in Rhode Island freshes pogey in the state hands down.. they got the best selection of striped bass lures for the cape cod canal ..

He opens and closes as he wants he usually has a cell phone number posted on the door to call if hes not their, he lives close.
