In four years, nobody has EVER answered the phone at the tax office. This year they failed to send the property tax bill to my escrow bank.

Why did you all hold a banquet during business hours without notifying the community on the website or answering machine? Also, when people were calling you, why did you take all of your phones offline?

I don't think they are required to notify anyone? Why would they? There is no statute or regulations requiring it. And they don't have POTS lines...i.e. 1950s plug in telephones...everything is VOIP. Internet based.

can 2016 taxes be paid nov. 4th?

I moved to Berkeley county in July I have been trying to inquire about the ambulance tax I might owe No one answers phone I left several voice mails in July no one replies I have tried to do it on line but computer says I do not exist Help!!!

John Mihoc you need to go over and pay for it in person. It's in the middle of .Martinsburg a 2 story brick building that holds the tax accessors office. That's where you go in and pay. It's 85 dollars for the ambulance fee. Bring cash.

Does the tax office here ever return a phone call ?? New to the area called 3 times left messages still no return call. Bought a house got tax bill says have previous taxes due. No clue how only been here year

They're slammed right now, due to tax season. You probably have to go into the office to clarify the issue. Long lines right now because taxes were due this month, I'd head there early in the morning to avoid the crowd.
