The store is fine otherwise and easy to get around to and do some quick shopping but the produce department is inconsistent with some of their promotional fruit trays. For weeks now, they had been showcasing these large bowls with melon all cut up and ready to eat and they were a great price. It was one of the ‘draw’ items that get you inside the store. But now, the last 4 times I’ve gone in there to get one, the shelves are empty except for some cut up pineapple bowls. I’ve asked twice why is this; the first time I was told they can cut up a cantaloupe on-site for me next time. The second time I asked after seeing empty shelves again, the customer service person went to speak to someone in produce: this turned out to be a total sham. The woman looked at me quizzically and it quickly became clear she didn’t speak English. She then called another produce person, talking to him on the cell phone in Spanish and I have no idea what she was saying - that became an even bigger sham: he was out in the parking lot (at ~ 8pm) but they covered for him, said he was “off the clock”. He comes in anyway to address my question about the missing melon bowls. Everything that came out of his mouth was a lie: first he said they ran out of cantaloupes. I looked over the aisle and pointed to a big selection, asked him what about those ? He then threw his produce manager ‘under the bus’ by insinuating it was his fault for not making more melon bowl packages. Wow. That was it - no clear explanation as to why not provide these bowls anymore, he just went back to the parking lot .
