Although I only moved in two weeks ago, I already feel right at home. The management staff is very attentive and courteous. They welcomed me with open arms and kept in touch with me from the minute I inquired about moving in up until I actually moved in. Lorena and GeAnn stayed in touch with me either by phone or email and helped me navigate the rental process. They both treated me like I was a v.i.p. I've already met many wonderful tenants who also welcomed me with open arms. If you're a senior and you love Silver Spring, The Bonifant is the place to be. Thank you Lorena and GeAnn! -

Updated 01/15/22: The following review posted 5 months ago was removed for some reason. If The Bonifant can't take polite criticisms, then correct your behavior. I'm reposting my review. If the Bonifant GM is a fine lady, who does what she can with what she has. The maintenance team is badly in need of training. Someone has to tell the men, you don't yell at seniors. Saying high to residents might help too! I have lived in the DMV area over 20 years, this is the first time ever, I’ve to deal with a management company that will not respect its tenants’ privacy. Humphrey has “mandatory quarterly inspections”, where they will open everything in your home, including your bedroom closet. I am a woman, and having a man -a total stranger- entering my bedroom closet, was the most violated I’ve felt in my entire life. I had a Humphrey male staffer, his eyes glued on my panties and bras, on my bedroom closet shelf. If I didn’t appreciate it, when he was detailing the content of my fridge shelves and told me: You are clean! Or when he opened all my kitchen cabinets, the intrusion of my bedroom closet was the last straw. The last line on Humphrey inspection memo used to be: “Housekeeping”: They check the cleanliness in your apartment. I have been a professional all my life. I don’t need anyone to teach me about cleanliness. Humphrey Management regional manager doesn’t respond to letters or emails. Humphrey CEO ignores certified letters. When I sought help from MHP PDT -one of The Bonifant managing members- in 2019, Humphrey told him “an agreement has been reached, and only a female staffer will inspect my bedroom closet when needed, from now on”. Of course, Humphrey is NOT respecting that engagement. Tenants only find out about the “mandatory quarterly inspections” after they moved in. Meanwhile, some residents are smoking in that “smoke free” building, and the smell gets in other residents apartments via the air ducts. Other residents burn incense daily, and the smell in the hallways is sickening. Humphrey Management is offering tenants $500.00 credit rent, for referring new tenants. Hint: “WORK ON KEEPING YOUR CURRENT TENANTS”.
